"Sophie is lovely host."
Nothing is too much for her. We had a wonderful wildlife filled 2weeks in this idyllic setting. We will be returning. The welcome tray was the perfect start to our holiday with flowers, biscuits, good coffee, tea ,sugar, scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam and even colwith distillery gin and two tonics. Truly exceptional
Thank you.

"Lodge was absolutely lovely."
Lovely touch with flowers, tea, coffee, milk, scones, jam, clotted cream, local vodka & tonic! Setting was beautiful. Amazing walks in the woods. Saw deer and heard an owl. Felt totally relaxed and it felt longer than a week. Ideally located to visit Bodmin, Mevagissey and Looe. The woods at Cardinham are definitely worth visiting. Perfect for switching off and relaxing.

"Ash wood is in a superb location if you want peace and quiet with walks in fields and woods straight from the door ."
It is especially safe for dogs . Yet there is easy access to the main roads with which to explore Cornwall. The property was spotless. It had a very generous welcome pack which was much appreciated. Thoroughly enjoyed having the cream tea!
The kitchen was well equipped with everything that you could need. Nice too to have a full size fridge/freezer.
After a long day out it was a pleasure to come back to. Many thanks .

"Loved staying at Ashwood."
The location is beautiful and the lodge is outstanding. We took our 2 labradors with us and although our elderly 13.5 yr old found it difficult to cope with the steps into the lodge, both back and front, we managed ok. Think the main door steps could be a problem for someone who had impaired mobility as the three steps were steep and quite narrow. It doesn’t mention that in the description. Apart from that Sophie and Steve were friendly and Steve came to help us with the heating when we told him about it. Would certainly recommend staying at Ashwood.

"Such a fantastic cottage."
One of the best we've stayed in in Cornwall. With one unfortunate exception. But I'll get onto that in a bit. It's very well equipped cottage, with a bright open aspect and plenty of space in its open plan living areas. Spotless and clean the owners had thought of everything. A bag of logs for the log burner, for the chilly evenings, and a cream tea and bottle of wine on arrival. Great for a group of 4 and a small dog. But, the biggest issue was the softness of the beds. We all ended up with backache after a week. The double bed incredibly poor and uncomfortable after a few nights. Huge shame as this is such a fantastic place and with so much to enjoy.
We all loved the exploring the local area and discovering beaches and coves along coast.
Really great property shame - about the beds.
Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad to hear of your positive comments. We are saddened to hear about your difficulty with the beds. We have not had any other comments of this nature before so are surprised to hear of this. As you can understand, mattresses are a lot to do with personal preference. However we will keep an eye out for similar, reoccurring comments. Property Owner

Lovely property, nicely styled, clean and tidy. Short drive to beaches and good access to National Trust, Eden Project etc. Quiet location with excellent facilities. Owner provided some nice treats on arrival and gave some good restaurant recommendations for our 20th wedding anniversary. Highly recommend.

"Ashwood was a lovely modern cabin in an idyllic situation."
Great for dog walks in the private woodland adjoining the property.
A thoughtful welcome pack was left for us, which was much appreciated.
However, we couldn't understand why there was no washing machine provided for our use, which is essential if you are dog walking in wet and muddy conditions.
In the previous 4 star and above properties that we have stayed in with Sykes, we have always had a washing machine in the kitchen.
Who wants to spend their holiday searching out and using a public launderette, especially during a pandemic?
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed the property and the location. Ashwood was not listed with a washing machine as this was not in place at the property when you made your reservation. We are always happy to query such details with owners prior to a reservation being made. The owners have since decided to install a washing machine so this will be available for future guests staying at Ashwood. Property Owner
