“Swift Cottage suited the two of us and our dog perfectly.”

The house was well equipped beyond our expectations, was perfectly clean and tidy and all the little extras made it a wonderful welcome. The location was good for us too. We had a brilliant holiday.

The property

Ideal for that special romantic time away together, this spacious barn conversion sits in the sleepy village of East Taphouse, near Looe in charming Cornwall.

Set alongside a small collection of character cottages, down a long winding farm lane off the road to the famous fishing port of Looe, Swift Cottage is perfect for touring this delightful area or for simply relaxing amongst glorious countryside close to the sea.

As you arrive at the cottage you immediately sense the homely welcoming feel that greets you; walk through the pretty garden and enter to find the property has been beautifully finished.

Passing through the well-equipped kitchen and dining area, you turn down a step to the hallway where first you have the cosy sitting room with its large comfortable sofa and then down a further three steps to the tastefully-furnished bedroom, which adjoins the shower room.

Outside, the wonderful English country garden is a delightful spot to sit and relax in at any time of day and a few steps up from the garden is the sun-kissed patio with barbecue, providing the perfect place for alfresco dining.

With Looe and Polperro both only a short distance away and the cities of Truro and Plymouth within half an hour’s drive for some of the best shopping in the South West, your options are endless.

For a really relaxing break amongst beautiful peaceful surroundings, in a wonderful part of Cornwall, Swift Cottage is hard to beat for a rural, romantic getaway.

About the location

EAST TAPHOUSE

Liskeard 5 miles; Polperro 9 miles; Looe 9 miles.

The small village of East Taphouse is located on the A390 in the heart of the beautiful Cornish countryside, perfectly situated for exploring all that Cornwall and Devon have to offer. Located between the historic market towns of Liskeard to the east and the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel to the west, there is also easy access to the picturesque old fishing ports of Looe, Polperro and Fowey and many spectacular sandy beaches and coves on the South Coast, whilst the rugged and dramatic Bodmin Moor is just 10 minutes to the north. Close by is the Eden Project along with the magnificent Lost Gardens of Heligan and many National Trust properties such as Lanhydrock and Cothele. Bodmin steam railway and the tall ship harbour at Charlestown are also nearby and well worth a visit. Further afield, Plymouth is only a 30-minute drive away as is the windswept northern coastline, with Padstow, Newquay, Tintagel and anywhere from Dartmoor to Land's End all accessible for an enjoyable day out.
