  • "Lovely position and spacious accommodation and will not hesitate to book again."

But several niggling issues need to be addressed :- Kitchen tap drips constantly( wasting precious water), Kitchen blind has lost its pulley for adjusting the shutters, Patio door blinds very hard to pull to one side as cord is dangling plus it would be a much better idea to have the blinds sliding to the left instead of the right which partially covers the door that opens, Front door light (right-hand side) needs new bulb, But the Major Issue is the washer/ dryer which sounds like it is about to launch into outer space, so loud I thought it would explode definitely needs immediate attention. Will not stope from booking again and in fact I am there next June so hopefully these problems will have been resolved.

Thank you for the list of niggles. There is now a brand new washer dryer and the light bulbs have been dealt with. The blinds are being sorted and the locked bedroom patio door was fixed on Friday. Looking forward to having you back next year Property Owner

The house has the potential to be lovely but is looking tired, very basic mattresses, scruffy outdoor area and outdoor furniture, upstairs large window doesn't seem to lock, we cleaned some stains from the walls and hoovered the dust from the bathroom caddies which must have been there some time. The location is great, we had a great boat trip from Padstow to see puffins and seals, hired bikes on the camel trail and did a lovely walk at the Bedruthan steps.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are so glad that you had a lovely time. We will be going to the property on Friday to check the new TV as the new TV should have been a like for like replacement. A pity that you did not warn us of the ongoing, quite noisy, . building work going on in the field behind . Also a few minor problems with opening the patio doors, did not even attempt the other sliding doors and the front gate needs to be fixed and the rug in the lounge was full of sand so we rolled it up to keep out the way. But this has not put us off booking for next year as the position is perfect.

Bulbz need replacing in downstairs bedroom and bathroom Considering the cost I would have expected a better standard and the outside ie the gate and garden furniture looked very tired. Looking at the review book in the cottage most of these complaints have been mentioned before but ignored. Whoever looks after your cottage is obviously not doing their job very well!!! It's a shame because the cottage itself is beautiful but you can't get away with poor maintenance when people are paying top prices.

Thank you for your useful feedback and I can confirm that the various issues raised are being dealt with. Property Owner

They house itself is nice and functional, we like the set up of having the children upstairs and we have a bit more space in the downstairs bedroom - would be amazing to have a super-king bed option! There are a few signs of tiredness around the house, we had a slight issue with the lounge rug that either holds dog hair and sand or malts either way we ended up rolling it up and had to hoover ourselves when we got there. Few things are a bit precarious like the downstairs shower doors, some door handles, outside gate, loose slabs on patio so just needs a bit of TLC to perfect!

  • "Having stayed at Neptune twice before, I can’t fault location, fantastic for the beach."

However, a few issues. The towels, which were very small had stains on them and there were no batteries in one remote control and the other remote had batteries that needed replacing. The lid on the bin didn’t close. The management company were notified, but didn’t do anything about it, I purchased batteries. The shower was faulty and a plumber had to come to rectify. The information provided was out of date, and the code provided for the outdoor shower was incorrect in the welcome email and in the literature in the property. Crockery was mismatched, chipped and marked. The patio door couldn’t be opened from outside and we almost got locked out as the wind closed it. The patio itself was great as it provided outdoor space, but had lots of weeds.

We are glad you enjoyed the location of Neptune, and we are sorry to hear about the problems you encountered during your recent stay. I would point out that a replacement bin and the batteries you requested were provided as soon as you notified the management company. With regard to the shower, a plumber arrived and fixed it as soon as it was possible to organise one. The new outdoor shower code was provided within 12 hours. Although the issue regarding the towels had never been raised before, new ones have been ordered. With regard to the crockery, this will all be overhauled and the information provided will be updated, in the winter months, when there is a free week in the property. The patio door is being checked and will be fixed if necessary and the weeds removed. Property Owner

Even though only two of us, we enjoyed the space, we slept in the double room upstairs but only used the bathroom downstairs as it has a walk in shower, which was great for us. Only thing nice to have, but not essential, is a dvd player. Outside space was good enough for sitting out to enjoy the glorious sunny weather we had last week. And our two cocker spaniel girl dogs were unable to escape the patio space outside but could just about stand on their back legs and look over the wall ! Ideal location for walking the dogs every day, a choice of two beautiful beaches. Handy store on the car park if you forgot any shopping. We've already booked again, same property for next year. • "Lovely property and great location."

We were blessed with fantastic weather and Treyarnon Bay is a beautiful place to be. Accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable. Had everything we required and found the beds very comfortable. No DVD player as stated in the details but has Netflix and Prime which we could login to. It would be good if the 9am check out times could be reviewed soon…it is a challenge to get dogs, children, elderly packed up and out the door by then and makes the end of the holiday a little stressful. An extra hour makes all the difference. We would have liked to put the vacuum around before we left to pick up all the sand but no time. Also the outdoor furniture very weathered and rickety, we were scared to sit on it incase it collapsed. Otherwise a great property that we were sad to leave. Would highly recommend.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to assure you that it is all being acted on. Mention of the DVD player has been removed from the description, the outdoor furniture is due to be replaced and the check-in/out times are being reviewed. Property Owner

We had the best time. The house was clean and tidy upon arrival, we even had a 2 pint of milk and a box of Cornish biscuits which were much needed after a long journey. A minutes walk to the beach our boys loved it. There a little convenience store onsite which sells the usual essentials along with bucket & spades and other stuff to use on the beach. There also a cafe/bar and a fish & chip van which also does Woodfire pizzas a couple of times a week. The house has everything you need to make it your home from home for the week. We all had a wonderful time and 3 days in we were trying to book this little gem again for next year. Great little find and highly recommended.

Single mattresses not adequate even for children Double mattress dips significantly on one side and is not adequate, duvet also too small (and smaller than the cover). Upstairs twin room needs blackout curtains as is extremely bright from dawn with the current slatted blinds. Outside furniture is well past best. Somewhere to hang wetsuits would make a big difference. Brilliant convenient spot for a holiday, we had a lovely week.

Thank you for your valuable feedback which we have discussed with the owner of Neptune. The issue with the bathroom floor is being addressed. New mattresses will be provided throughout, a black out blind is being sorted and the garden furniture is due for renewal next year, There is no specific space for wetsuits however the owner suggests hanging them in the downstairs shower. • "Overall we had a really lovely holiday in Neptune."

The property was clean, comfortable and (except for the issues raised below) ideal for my family of 5 + dog. The location was excellent - right on the beach, as described, and it is a really stunning cove with beautiful clear waters. When the tide was going out the water was very calm and safe; when the tide was coming in, there were more waves, ideal for older children and body boarders. There were two take away vans nearby, both serving coffees and snacks, which was ideal, and meant there was something for everybody if we wanted to grab something to eat (that said, the house was literally 4 minutes walk from where we usually sat on the beach, so not too far!). There is also a small shop for essentials. The beach was perfect for our dog - it is a very dog friendly beach where they are allowed off lead, so she had at least as good a holiday as us! However, there were a few issues. 1) Our main inconvenience was that though the property description said there was wifi (and there was), we were only able to access this off our one iPhone, not using any of the android phones (this is apparently a glitch with some of the BT home hubs, I found after researching it). I had specifically chosen a property with WIFI as my husband needed to keep up with work during the week, and one of my daughters had some university work to complete. The signal at the property is also very poor so, most of the time, we had no access to the internet at all. When we did get access, my husband had to hotspot his laptop off it to get his work done, and we managed to use up all of the data on some of the phones. 2) There was no microwave - the caretaker said that the electrician should have fitted one that morning, but obviously hadn't. I queried why nobody had checked the work had been done. The caretaker got us a replacement the next morning. Why this had been left for the morning of our arrival after the property had been sat empty for months, I don't know. 3) The freezer was turned off and there was old, mucky water in 2 of the trays. I needed to empty these, wash them out, turn the freezer on, and then wait for the freezer to be cold before I could use it. The caretaker said they didn't usually turn the freezer on but leave it for the first occupants of the season to do this. 4) One of the patio chairs was broken, and the outside handle to the side door to patio was also broken. This didn't affect us and I reported it to Sykes. I also had a problem getting through to Sykes on the phone to discuss some of this (I was in a queue for over 20 mins on 2 occasions) - it would be easier if there was an easy email communication or more staff manning the phones. They did try to call me too but with no signal at the property they couldn't get through either.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at Neptune. We have spoken to the owner regarding the points raised and she reports the wifi is regularly checked and this is the first instance that has been reported, the wifi has since been checked and no fault has been found. A new microwave had been arranged to be installed ready for your arrival, however when the item was unpacked it was found to be damaged, hence why a replacement was sourced for you the next day. The oversight of the fridge and freezer not being on was correctly pointed out and will not reoccur. A replacement outdoor chair has been ordered. Despite the points raised we are pleased your family and your dog enjoyed your visit. Property Owner

Sadly this year, despite extra time being allowed for COVID cleaning, the cleanliness of the property was of a poor standard. Also the microwave did not work, and the ensuite toilet flush was sticking, which is a problem that was there in previous years

We have raised the points mentioned with the owner of the property who will ensure items mentioned are fixed/replaced immediatley. When raised by myself I was advised my comments would be passed on to the owner and that you hoped it hadn’t affected my holiday. Poor customer service. Here’s a list of a few things we found:- Broken bins lids in bathroom & shower room and fall off. Lounge dimmer switch is cracked and falls off every time we use it. Velux windows don’t appear to work and don’t look they’ve worked for a while by looking at the cobwebs! Filthy table umbrella broken and just dumped in the outside area. Fire extinguishers appear to be significantly out of date. Legal requirement! Melted fish slice. Split chopping boards which are unhygienic. Cracked grouting on floor tiles in the bathroom. Mildew on tiles under shower in bathroom. Rusty radiators in bathroom and shower room. Basin tap is very loose in shower room. Melted saucepan lids. Mildew on vertical blinds. Frayed bath mat. Whilst we appreciate the cost of the apartment is significantly influenced by its location, the interior & exterior of the property lets it down. We stayed at the property two years ago and it was great but unfortunately I feel the standards of maintenance have slipped. I therefore do not feel like its value for money and I am really disappointed.
