  • "We felt there was too much evidence of previous occupancy, ie discarded chewed bubble gum on the lounge floor, soiled underwear left in drawers and lack of cleaning in a few areas."

  • "Thank you for our fantastic holiday."

We had a lovely time in the very hot temperatures! Everything that we needed and a nice central location for exploring some beautiful places. We were grateful for all the useful info provided by the owners on places to visit.

  • "Nice cottage next to several beaches and gardens."

The parking at the coop is very close to the cottage with many space... Greater cookingpots for a family of 4 persons will be great ... Befor booking the cottage, we had no information about the case, that Middleway is a road often used by coaches, lorrys and loud motorcycles. Both sleepingsrooms are to the roadside. The early bird (6 am) catches ...

  • "The cottage has a strong smell of damp which is over powering."

The kitchen wasn’t very clean - cupboard doors were dirty and sticky. The drain smell when the dishwasher was on was awful. The hard floor on the ground floor was really dirty. You could tell it had been mopped as there were mopping marks but the floor was still dirty. The front of the cottage is dirty (flooring, paint work, meter cupboard) so the general appearance isn’t great. The garden is also unkept - over grown & messy. The deck, chairs and table were filthy. All in all I felt really let down and it’s certainly not good value for the money. On the positive side it was a really good location for the Eden project and the bathroom was clean (apart from the extractor which is filthy). A lot of the above is so easy to fix with better housekeeping and more attention to detail. A welcome pack would be appreciated as well as some general instructions about locating switches for things (the oven for example) and instructions about bins. A few tips - the house needs to be aired and it needs a dehumidifier. Less Knick knacks - they’re not needed - you need empty surfaces to put your own stuff when staying at a holiday cottage. Sort out the crockery, cutlery etc in the kitchen - it’s such a mix of random things. Provide a airer for drying beach towels etc - a heated airer would be even better to counteract the general dampness of the cottage.

  • "We had a wonderful stay in the beautifully decorated Nasturtium cottage - a high attention to detail makes you feel straight at home."

Great amenities with high-tech heating, WIFI (login details in the little book), dishwasher and TV with netflix included. The perfect base to explore the south Cornwall coast. Perfectly positioned with a large Co-op one minute walk away and a huge beach at Par Sands 5-6 minute drive away for walking the dog. Would highly recommend.

  • "For just two adults and a small dog this was a cosy place with a nice lounge."

Convenient for the coastal villages and beaches. The shower cubicle is quite small but we’re slim so wasn’t a problem! Parking out of season was fine but not sure if harder to find street parking close by in summer. Close to Co-Op and complimentary therapy centre. Stairs are steep and the bunk room really needs an electric heater out of season - but we didn’t need to use the room. Appreciate difficult to accommodate a washing machine. Families staying perhaps might prefer that to a dish washer? All appliances good. It suited us fine. Suzanne the owner was very nice and helpful

  • "High standard of cleanliness."

Decorated and finished to a high standard, owners have thought of everything. Good equipped kitchen if you want to self cater. Lovely little garden area with raised decking. Very close to large Co-op store (1 min walk) and good location for beach trips, Eden project and a number of port towns with good restaurants (which get very booked up so best to book well in advance). Would recommend and would visit again.

About the location

ST BLAZEY

Eden Project 1 mile; Charlestown 3 miles; St Austell 3 miles.

St Blazey is a small town situated three miles east of St Austell and was formerly an important engineering centre for the local mining and railway industries. The town is nowadays best known for being the closest to the Eden Project. Nearby Charlestown is a delightful and much sought after coastal village of stone cottages and regency houses. It is famous for its collection of tall ships riding at anchor in the harbour, the shipwreck museum, excellent pubs and restaurants and easy access to the coastal path. The old market town of St. Austell lies just a few miles from the south coast, and is famous for its China Clay mining history. Today, home to numerous beaches, (including dog-friendly Par Sands) and sub tropical gardens, it is a popular place for tourists, with plenty to see and do. A short drive will take you to fashionable Fowey or the fishing port of Mevagissey, and with lots to do, this is a great year round location.
