  • "The cottage really was lovely, could not fault it at all."

There is everything you need. Having a washer and a dishwasher was a bonus as a family of 5. The bedrooms were also really comfortable and we all slept so well. I asked for a cot last minute and this was provided. We knew the parking situation and did feel slightly anxious about it as a family with lots of equipment we were carting about but it was actually fine. First night it was raining heavy so we paid £8 to park in the pub but you can buy a drink and get a partial refund. Then every other night we found somewhere to park within a very short walk. Coverack is a lovely village, really picturesque. The beach is lovely and there is a little cove at the other side of the cottage too. Really nice walks which weren’t too technical, our two year old managed the coastal path down to the cove. Lots of amenities close by too, pub, cafe, shop, chippy, pizza - what more do you need? Also lots of other things to do around Helston like Flambards and the steam railway. Really nice locals as well - I lost my purse on the harbour one night and within 1 hour it was returned to me. Just a really friendly place and great for families who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of large busy towns but still plenty to do - we will definitely return!

  • "The views and position of this cottage are wonderful, quiet, soothing and relaxing."

The cottage itself is quaint and well furnished with quality furniture and furnishings, bright and on the smaller size for a maximum of six people. Unfortunately we had a few problems on arrival, none of the electrics were working, including the fridge. We had to work out that the major fuse had tripped and been left off. The dishwasher was broken and not fixed until the Thursday. The garden furniture was dirty and rusty, and although the cushions were in a box for the furniture, it wasn't waterproof, so were soaking wet and stained. So the garden furniture was not able to be used for the whole week. The biggest problem is the parking. It states in the advertisement, " unload at the end of the road, then park next to the Chapel if space available", We did this, and found the next morning one of the local residents had put a fake Parking Ticket on our car. We then went out to come back to the spaces having parking cones blocking us from parking. These spaces are not reserved, but the local residents expect you not to park in them, and get very irate if you do. Parking is extremely difficult on a very steep hill, so if you have mobility or health problems, this probably isn't the place for you, which should be mentioned in the Holiday Brochure. There were some minor cleaning issues with dirty cutlery and pans and a very dusty TV. A guide with how appliances work would be a very useful addition. The cream tea provided was a nice thought and appreciated. The local shop and hotel also provide a very good service. Overall the cottage was a nice place with outstanding views, but would I return, probably not.

Thank you for your feedback and it is lovely to hear you enjoyed the position of the cottage with its outstanding views and quiet and relaxing spot on The Costal path. It is unfortunate that we discovered the dishwasher was not working on your day of arrival, however, as our engineer needed to order a part, it was not repaired as quickly as we would have liked and we thank you for your patience with this. Unfortunately, we hadn't realised the dishwasher had tripped a switch in the process but I understand this was very quickly resolved. Due to the unique position of the cottage on the coastal path, this does mean we don't have parking at the front of the property. This is pointed out in the details of the cottage. It is very common in Cornish villages that parking can be a challenge unless you stay in a property with designated parking. We are very fortunate in Coverack to have a few public parking areas but this does mean that you may have to unload close to the cottage and then park elsewhere, within a short walk. Thank you for your feedback regarding cleanliness, we take the standard of the cottage very seriously and endeavour to present it to a high a standard. I will review your points with my housekeeper and address any issues raised. Rest assured we will make every effort keep our standards high, ensuring all our guests have a wonderful holiday. • "A really good base for exploring the Lizard."

Nicely appointed accommodation, very functional kitchen, tidy and clean bathrooms. Gorgeous coast walk starts right at the front door step, taking you all the way to Kennack Sands and beyond. Local shop with for all self-catering needs, good pub if not in a mood to cook. All around the perfect holiday home.

  • "We had a lovely time here in this cottage."

We found it to be in an excellent location, not only for the view which is postcard perfect, but also the walking distance to the village amenities and harbour. The cottage itself was beautifully finished and extremely well equipped. It was furnished well and all beds were comfy. Going to sleep to the sound of the waves was a lovely holiday experience. Would highly recommend and many thanks to the owners for their thought and care in making it such a nice home to stay in.

I imagine parking would be a very big issue in season. Some documentary guidance regarding the TV operation would be useful. We will probably be booking again

  • "Very happy with this booking."

Excellent accommodation. Prime location actually adjacent to the South West Coastal path but not inconvenienced in any way by the regular foot traffic going by the front door. Parking is not perfect but with one days exception we either managed to get in the spaces at the end of the lane or the "pub" car park which is only 5 minutes walk and we had 3 cars to accommodate. Location and accommodation highly recommended and access to all parts of the brilliant Lizard Peninsula is quite easy. Walking and/or water sports literally on the doorstep but for a 60 year old with a 2 year old grandson tagging along an early morning cup of tea on the bench by the front door watching the tide come in or out (I never really worked out which) was a little bit of heaven before grandad was in play !! Hope to go back at some point.

  • "An idyllic spacious cottage on a peaceful lane, along the coastal path with no traffic nearby!"

The views of the bay, and out to sea from all cottage windows are just fabulous! It is beautifully furnished in Laura Ashley interior design with a modern and very tasteful look to it! Facilities within the cottage are excellent with free an effective wi-fi. It is such a relaxing place to stay with quiet beaches nearby along the coastal path, and also in the village, as well as a watersports centre. Coverack is quaint with lots of pretty thatched cottages, a great pub and plenty of places to eat on your doorstep. Homemade pasties available to order from Elizabeth in the village .. delicious! It has a great community shop with local produce and plenty of choice. I would highly recommend 4, Coastguard Cottage, well worth visiting to enjoy the beautiful Cornish landscapes right on your doorstep!

It is very well appointed and comfortable (and well insulated) yet keeps all its character. Brilliantly positioned for coastal walks and with the convenience of pubs and small shops in Coverack. We had a wonderful time.

  • "Excellent, very clean cottage."

Wonderful location. Great walks along South West Coastal Path. However, attic bedroom should be advertised as for children only. We had party of six adults. The attic bedroom en suite did not have a mirror which made shaving difficult. One could be installed on tiled wall next to the bathroom door over the sink. Adults will (no matter how careful) will bump their heads on the beams in the attic. We went off season and parking was still difficult. This is the reason I would not book again. For two or four adults - and two children - the cottage itself is superb.

  • "We have visited Coverack a few times under canvas and this time returned with our toddler and grandparents and found this wonderful cottage."

The upside down layout means you get fantastic views from the lounge and kitchen and also good views from the bedrooms, the attic room would be great for children (we kept our toddler in the cot in our room). The cottage was extremely comfortable, with everything you would need for a weeks stay. The location is great, in a quiet area of the village away from the road yet just 5 minutes walk to the harbour. The bench out the front is a great place to sit and relax and enjoy the views. We all had a wonderful relaxing week and will be back!
