  • "Little Trevean was everything we’d hoped for after seeing it advertised."

A truly get away from it all cottage in the countryside. Fully equipped with all anyone would need in the farmhouse style kitchen. Outdoor furniture to relax in the garden after a busy day exploring the stunning surrounding. Comfortable furniture throughout. A beautifully wild garden that has all kinds of winged visitors. We even heard a cuckoo in the local woods. Not completely secure for dogs, but ok if your dog doesn’t look to escape all the time. I hope we can revisit one day.

  • "1st to 16th April 2022 Highly recommend Little Trevean, comfy beds and furniture, everything you could wish for and more for kitchen appliances, plates etc."

Beautiful gardens and surrounding area, quiet and peaceful away from it all but so easy to access other areas like the lizard, lands End etc. Only small problem was the shower in ensuite doesn't get warm.

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback for us. The matter is in hand with the owner and a plumber. Best wishes, The Owner Relations Team. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property."

Plenty of room. Excellent facilities. The garden was a delight, The only major issues we had were the showers which were lukewarm and no matter how we tried to adjust them it made no difference. Would recommend to the owner to rectify as we have noted that others have had the same issue and it appears nothing has been done. Despite this it is a lovely cottage and we would thoroughly recommend this property and will be returning ourselves.

Thank you for leaving feedback, it is really useful to us. The owner is aware of the problem, and is waiting on a part from the plumber! - The Cornish Cottage Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "The location and layout of the cottage was perfect, it felt very homely and the kitchen was very well equipped."

Plenty of room for our family to spread out. The gardens even in February were lovely and a joy to walk around. However, there was quite a lot of white dog hair through out the property and on day 2 I hoovered the entire house and managed to clean most of it. Behind doors and in corners there was a lot of dust as well. The touch points on doors were very grime also. It may have been because the property was empty before us but it smelled uncomfortably damp. It took 3 days of constantly running the de humidifier (we found tucked away in a corner) before the environment felt comfortable. Even when the house was warm the master bedroom was still very cold. There was also no closing mechanism on the bedroom door. There were a few hours when we first arrived when the power was out (and had been for some time before) and as the water works off a pump, no running water or heat either. No one had made any effort to let us know about this before we arrived. Communication with Sykes cottages was excellent but it was a struggle trying to get the owners to understand why no power was an issue with 3 children! They’d left torches and emergency water in the kitchen with a small post it note. Would I recommend this property? Despite the issues - yes, but not as a winter holiday. It’s a unique cottage and with a little more care and maintenance it could be very special. It’s a shame the problems above overshadowed the stay.

We apologise for the inconvenience you suffered as a result of the power cut whilst visiting our cottage. Little Trevean is located in a heavily wooded area and prior to your arrival there were heavy winds which damaged trees and overhead power lines. The power supply company gave over optimistic completion times which were not met and consequently the caretaker was unable to vacuum the cottage as we do not have a battery cleaner. The central heating whilst it is oil fired needs a power supply as does the borehole pump. The caretaker was unaware that the problem had not been solved as her supply in Coverack was restored before your scheduled arrival time whilst our supply was restored sometime after your arrival. With the benefit of hindsight we accept that our communications could have been more helpful, but we were misled by the optimistic forecast of the power company. Property Owner

Both showers need a good clean . Considering COVID there was no soap in the property .General cleanliness was not up to standard.

We have stayed before in 2014. Love the surrounding gardens and being able to sit and watch the birds over my morning cuppa! The showers weren't overly hot and I was a bit disappointed that the dishwasher was no longer insitu. The property allowed for a wonderful break with very welcoming feeling and we will be back again! Thank you for a wonderful break!

! This prooerty is just beautiful! The house is very well equipped and very clean! The milk, biscuits and coffee /tea left for us by the owners was a really nice touch and very welcome after a long journey! The garden is stunning and so tranquil! To sit and have morning coffee, reading a book and all you can hear is bee’s buzzing and birds singing is the most beautiful way to start the Day! Our dog sonny loved exploring the grounds as did my 16 years old daughter! We come to Cornwall every year and this is by far the most wonderful place we have stayed. The setting is perfect and the location lends itself to exploring a truly stunning part of cornwall. We will definitely be coming back to this most fantastic property! Thank you to the owners for allowing us to share this stunning home! Will be booking again very soon! Barbara

  • "The water supply is quaint but inadequate - not fit for purpose."

Numerous small flying bugs, probably cloths moths is bedrooms. Even though the fire was nice and the garden was great, the water and bug problems, together with poor decoration (evidence damp patch on the wall) result in my negative opinion.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are sorry to hear of the issues you experienced during your stay. The problem you describe with the water was due to a partially blocked filter and a call to the caretaker would have swiftly resolved this at the time. The Owners have stayed at the property since your visit and have not noticed any insects. The minor damp problem in the bedroom wall was caused by a defective chimney which has since been repaired and the wall redecorated. Property Owner

  • "This is a truly lovely house, we're talking "dream home" level, surrounded by stunning gardens."

The beds were comfortable, the showers were powerful and spacious, the kitchen was really well equipped. The gardens are this property's selling point though, with different areas to explore and relax in. The garden furniture is great - comfortable and portable, meaning we could move around the garden and sit in different areas chasing the sun or taking in a new view. I loved all the birdfeeders and it was lovely to watch all the birds using them. The garden is not secure though and there are places where wire fences have been trampled and flattened, a bit of a concern when you have a dog as we had to be especially vigilant, especially as the estate next door is a working farm. Otherwise this is a great property, and it was a pleasure to stay.

We would certainly recommend this property as it lacked for nothing. The only criticism we had was the fact that the email informing us of the key location and telephone numbers to ring, stated that towels would be provided. We arrived and had no towels but they were very quickly provided. Conflicting information given, bit of a rocky start but all was well as we had a really good break.
