  • "Lovely cottage with everything you need especially for a winter break."

The only criticism would be the poor WiFi, we have stayed in crantock many times and this was very poor as we only managed to log in briefly once. Thankfully we have unlimited WiFi via our phones. This also made the tv experience frustrating as we could only get Netflix to work on the tv. You need to update the house managers number as it is disconnected.

Thank you so much for your review, we are delighted that you enjoyed your break. As new owners of the cottage, your feedback is very helpful to us. We are in the process of changing the broadband provision to a fibre network, and are updating the handbook. Hope to see you again! Samantha and David, property owners. Property Owner

  • "Second stay at this idyllic character cottage in a great location."

Two great pubs, a shop and a great beach within walking distance. Also on a bus route and lots of great walking opportunities. Feels like home from home.

Thank you for your review - as new owners of the cottage, it's lovely to get your feedback and hear that you had a great time. Hopefully see you again next year! David and Samantha Property Owner

The property

Blacksmith’s Cottage is a traditional, Cornish-built cottage at the top end of the pretty village of Crantock, opposite Crantock View.

This property was the original Blacksmith’s cottage and dates back to the 1730s, situated in a great location with plenty of parking, the interior design is a modern and light decor, giving the rooms a warm and welcoming feeling throughout.

Inside you will find three well-presented bedrooms: a king-size resting on the ground floor and perfect for those with limited mobility, whilst the first floor provides an extra king-size and a twin with zip and link features so it can be made into a super king-size upon request.

The family bathroom has an elegant bath and shower over, so you can decide how best to prepare for your day.

The ground floor boasts a wonderful open-plan kitchen/diner, with contemporary appliances, so you can easily rustle up a delicious home-cooked meal for the whole family and plenty of seating to enjoy your meals and some quality family time together.

The sitting room is the perfect spot to relax and unwind on the provided sofas, and delight in the Smart TV to keep you entertained.

Outside, there is a south-facing garden to the rear which is on two levels with stone steps linking them.

The higher level has outside rattan corner seating and a fabulous setting with lush tropical planting and lighting.

There is an outside dining area with picnic table and chairs, with the top level being a real sun-trap.

Blacksmith’s Cottage will appeal to those who like to be within walking distance of Crantock village’s facilities, as well as being just a short drive from all of Cornwall’s sporting, leisure and other attractions.

Crantock beach is just a ten minute walk from the property, making it an excellent spot for surfers and beach lovers.

Travel into the thriving seaside town of Newquay for a plethora of attractions, including the popular Newquay beach, where you and your little ones can explore the grounds and visit the animals.
