  • "We had a fantastic family weekend."

The accommodation was spotless and extremely well equipped. We would definitely recommend it.

  • "Well appointed, clearly a lot of thought has been given to how the house is equipped, decorated and furnished."

Plenty of kitchen equipment, cutlery and crockery and everything worked. Two fridges useful. Complimentary milk, tea and coffee on arrival appreciated. The house was very clean and tidy. We very much enjoyed our stay.

  • "Lovely property in a great location."

Everything you need at the property for great home style living. Some of the furnishings are tired/well used, mattress sagging on the king-size bed, but other than that I would highly recommend this property. The location for Crantock and it's stunning beach is definitely the best, even for those who cannot manage hilly beach access. It is definitely somewhere we would consider staying again.

  • "A pleasant little house in a less than salubrious location."

4 comfortable bedrooms, very well equipped kitchen and sunny little garden. The bottom line is that the house is not big enough for 6 adults and 2 children, despite having sufficient beds! I would say 4 adults 2 children at the most. There was never enough hot water for all of us to shower. We could all fit around the kitchen table but it was a squeeze. The layout of the lounge meant up to 5 could sit and watch TV, 2 people could sit at the back of the room out of the way, and the 8th? No comfortable garden furniture, or the ability to fit around the outside table was the absolute deal breaker for us. We were unable to enjoy the lovely evenings because there was not enough room to sit and the furniture was so uncomfortable. We enjoyed our holiday, but will not use again. Also as with every Sykes property we have ever used, the grass hadn't been cut for weeks.

  • "We’ve had another great holiday at Offshore this year."

It really is a home from home after a number of visits over the past few years. It is well equipped and very comfortable for our ever growing family. The kitchen is spacious and has all the equipment needed for self catering. Each of the bedrooms has plenty of storage and having 2 bathrooms and a downstairs bathroom are useful when the house is at full capacity. The garden is enclosed and has a shed which has been useful for all our beach gear! Plus an outside shower for rinsing the sand off after a day on the beach. We were blessed with glorious weather this year but Offshore would be a peaceful retreat should you want to chill at home. The fact that we have returned so many times speaks for itself

Thank you so much for such generous, detailed feedback. We are really pleased to be able to welcome you back to Offshore year after year, and especially happy for you that the weather was so fantastic this time! Property Owner

It’s a very comfortable home from home which suits our families needs perfectly. The house is well equipped with lots of kitchen utensils and plenty of crockery should you choose to eat in. The lounge is comfortable and as it’s all on one level downstairs was safe for the youngest member of our family . Upstairs the bedrooms are light and airy and having an en suite and a family bathroom was really useful. The location is also ideal as it’s only a short walk in to Crantock and the beach. We’re already booked in for next year and can’t wait!

  • "Details on the property page differed from details emailed by Sykes, such as check in time and check out time."

Most importantly, the keysafe number was NOT the number emailed by Sykes. Also, we were told after booking that we had to pay £150 damage deposit on arrival- this was annoying as we had already paid a lot, including extra for the dog, but in fact we were not asked to pay deposit on arrival. All annoying little administrative things. The house was great. Odd residential location, but handy for village and beach. Car parking was tight for 2 cars, so not sure who would fit a third on the drive as oer the listing!

We're sorry that there were a few admin issues with your booking and have updated Sykes with the key safe number and the fact that we don't request a deposit any more. Our new hedge at the front has taken up some of the drive space, which does make it suitable for only 2 cars at most now. Hopefully you enjoyed your holiday and liked Crantock as much as we do. • "The house is very clean and comfortable and well equipped."

The photograph must have been taken when the house was built because the garage pictured is now a bedroom and the drive looks a lot bigger in the picture which made it a bit confusing trying to find it on arrival. • "The House wasn’t set up for 4 pm arrival and the property manager came around 4."

30 to 4.45 to put in toilet rolls, bring replacement duvet etc. I reported to her the extractor in en suite wasn’t working which she said would get sorted, it turned out both bathroom extractors didn’t work. The house could do with a real good deep clean, we were all sneezing from dust and under beds and sofas was really bad, the lounge also smelt of dog, yes I have dogs but mine don’t smell like that. The grass wasn’t cut in the garden and as such made it difficult to clean up after the dogs, there was also a large plant over growing the front path which made it difficult to get a buggy past. Just a few irritations but paying 2k for a week , I did really expect it to be perfect. I know these issues could have been sorted but after reporting the extractors to the manager, we didn’t really want people coming in and out during the week to sort issues, this should have been done before we got there.

However there was little room for them to get in and out of bed so perhaps twin beds would be a better option in this room. Overall the standard of accommodation was very good, local people very friendly. It is well worth mentioning the xmas lights in the village as well as having them up in the cottage was a lovely added bonus.

  • "This is our third stay at Offshore and it is a really great cottage for a family holiday."

The cottage is well equipped for a self catering stay having plenty of crockery, cutlery, pans, utensils etc. There is also a washer, dryer and dishwasher so there is everything you need for your stay. We had three couples in our party and found the sleeping arrangements perfect for us - 2 good doubles, one en suite and one family bathroom upstairs, plus another double and a cloakroom downstairs. There is a fourth bedroom upstairs which was made up as a double but can also be a twin. There is a good amount of storage in most of the bedrooms. Only the downstairs bedroom seems to lack hanging space but this didn’t cause any issues for us. So Offshore works well for a number of groups. The lounge is spacious with 2 settles and 2 armchairs and has sliding doors to the garden. The garden is fully enclosed so it’s great for anyone with dogs like us, as we knew they were secure. The house is located a short walk from the village shop and pubs and of course the beach. There is space on the drive for 2 cars - a real bonus in Crantock. The village is only small but has 2 pubs, a tea room and village shop which is well stocked. The shop is also a post office. The beach is beautiful and you can even walk to Newquay from here. A perfect base for visiting North Cornwall. We have already booked for 2019 so that says it all really.

The property

Offshore is a gem of a self catering cottage just a few minutes walk out of Crantock in North Cornwall and is perfect for a family get away.

The cottage is based in a quiet residential road, making it a safe haven for families with children.

Whilst tucked away, the cottage is less than a ten minute walk from the centre of the village where you will find two pubs, a local store and other attractions.

It is a 10 to 15 minute walk from Crantock’s large, sandy beach meaning you are never too far from the sea or the water’s edge - ideal for surfers!

Offshore is semi detached and is a deceptively large cottage with a bright, beachy-surfer feel to it.

Each bedroom has an assigned colour theme with a modern, feel-good energy created by the natural light pouring through the many windows.

As a relatively newly built cottage, its spacious layout makes for easy, safe, fun living; and with the added bonus of a fully enclosed garden, children are free to explore leaving the parents to kick back and relax!

There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates.
