  • "Well equipped property in a great location, close to many fabulous National Trust sites."

Despite the cold weather, the house was toasty warm. The only downside is that water pressure is very low.

  • "Number 10 is a fantastic holiday home."

It had all the essentials and equipment we required to enjoy an amazing holiday in Crantock. The spacious downstairs kitchen dining area was great. The beds were comfy and provided a well earned rest after days on the beach. We even managed an evening drink outside on the patio despite some mixed weather. The property is perfectly placed to enjoy the beauty of Crantock (including the numerous pubs/restaurants it has to offer within short walking distance) but also ideal for getting around - we visited Perranporth, Padstow, Newquay and St Ives during our stay. Support and communication from the property manager was excellent before and during our stay. Having read the previous reviews re: water pressure issues this didn’t come as a surprise to ourselves but there was certainly adequate flow to shower. We enjoyed our stay that much we have already booked for next year!

  • "Lovely airy spacious home."

Very comfy with picturesque views and wildlife. Its got everything you would need and with only a 8min drive to the beach it was the perfect location. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

  • "Have experienced the odd thing not working in past stays at Number 10, but everything was fine this time."

Appreciated the new Smart TV and two new settees in the lounge. Whilst this house does not have the sea views that some cottages in Crantock have, if you're happy with the beautiful rolling green fields from the rear then this is a great home from home at a reasonable price. It is also phenomenally warm in winter. Must have top grade insulation. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Same shower room light bulb out as on previous visit - hard to see to shave etc."

Water flow through shower room shower almost stopped altogether. Need to cup your hands, fill them with water and throw it at yourself to remove soap suds from your body. Main bathroom basin smell, appears to be due to overflow needing cleaning out/disinfecting. Bedroom TV broken. Switches on for about five seconds then cuts out completely.

  • "This is an excellent property for a family holiday focused around the beach at Crantock."

The village, beach, and coastal paths are all just a short walk away and it is easy to get to Newquay or Perranporth by car if you want to do something different. The house was clean and spacious, well equipped, and located in a quiet cul-de-sac with views over farmland. Only a single key was provided and there was no instruction or welcome pack. Other houses we have rented through Sykes have had at least 2 keys and instructions covering things like rubbish collection, recycling, etc. As others have noted, the shower in the master bedroom en-suite is barely usable due to the low water pressure and issues with temperature control. If this was fixed, the property would get a 5-star review.

  • "Lovely clean and comfortable house in a quiet area."

We stayed during the hottest period of the summer but as there was no parasol and the garden is south facing, we were unable to sit out. The hedge requires cutting as we were only able to enjoy the view from the upstairs bedrooms. A number if lightbulbs were out, no hook for washing line and no pegs, (we bought some). As there were 3 generations staying we purchased a bath mat as the showers were very slippery. However, on a positive note, the KS bed was very comfortable and the blinds throughout the house were a blessing during the hot spell of weather. Tracey the Property Manager was pleasant and helpful.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at #10 and would highly recommend it."

It was in a great quiet location with excellent views over Cubert Common although only a 7 minute walk to the centre of Crantock. Beaches, pubs & cafes were all easily reachable on foot as well as the coastal paths and as a result only used the car on one day! The house was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. As highlighted by the owner the low water pressure prevents a powerful shower however we got used to it! The only addition we would recommend is a sun umbrella for the patio as it’s south facing aspect provides a lot of sun and some shade would have been a bonus! All in all a great stay … we all loved it here.

  • "A regular visitor to Number 10."

Really pleased to have the new mattress in the main bedroom as the other one used to leave me with quite bad back ache each morning. Love the new dining room and garden furniture. Semi broken TV from Christmas week fixed, thank you. Bulb out in en suite shower room is quite a problem, almost too dark to shave in there. No other major issues at the moment.

  • "Number ten was very clean and well presented on arrival."

It is a modern house in a very quiet situation in Crantock and we had a warm and comfortable stay. There were only two us, so the house felt spacious and the King bed was comfortable. We were very pleased to discover there was a washing machine and tumble drier, which had not been mentioned in the blurb, and were very useful. The low water pressure on both showers was our only concern, but there was plenty of hot water. However we felt the cottage was expensive.

  • "The house is in a great spot - a little out of the way so it’s peaceful, but walking distance to the beach and everything you might need in the village."

The walk back from the beach is uphill mostly, and the car park at the beach is full from very early on in the day during the summer so keep that in mind if you’re not up to the walk - we used a trolley wagon to carry our beach kit and our son’s little legs at the end of the day! The house is spotless and spacious, with everything you need and a well kitted out kitchen.

  • "We have stayed at Number 10 many times."

Two issues this time. Firstly there was no toaster, which admittedly would probably have been remedied if we had contacted the property manager - but we shouldn't have to. The second issue is much more of a problem and making us reconsider further bookings. The mattress in the main bedroom is horrendous. It has been of poor quality for a number of visits but is now worse than ever. It appears to be nothing more than a piece of foam and provides no back support at all. I would stress that neither my wife nor I suffers from any back problems, but the pain across the small of our backs by the end of the third night was extremely uncomfortable. I ended up having to take pain killers each morning after getting up. Given the rental charges, I think a decent mattress would not be too much to expect.

  • "The location is fantastic, being so close to two amazing beaches, one within walking distance, the other a five minute car journey."

The property itself is just perfect, all so clean and modern and beautifully presented. The appliances are all very easy to use and it was lovely and warm. There's a lovely view over fields from the back of the house and a small but pleasant garden. The garden does catch the wind rather, so we were not able to use it, which was a shame. The only problem I personally found with the property was that the bed we used was very hard. Luckily I had read a comment about this from a previous guest and took a thick topper with us. would definitely stay there again.

  • "The house and location were lovely, we had everything we needed."

My only complaints were that we did not have any contact from the property manager until the last minute which meant a long drive not knowing what the key collection arrangements or contact details were. Also the bed in the smallest room was broken so we were left with two rooms for 4 people, meaning adults and children had to share beds which was not ideal.

Would stay again. More facilities in property than listed. Very tidy, clean and comfortable - sofas a little too soft so not enough back support. Very firm bed in master bedroom -good for me, not so good for my wife - but we’ll kept and look after. Lovely surroundings with farmland behind garden. Easy walk to beach and local facilities and a short drive to main supermarkets, town centres and other beaches in Newquay.

We go there because it doesn’t take pets and we have allergies. The cul de sac is quiet, the neighbours friendly, any mess left by the local cat is cleaned up. It’s away from the centre of Crantock in a cul de sac so no traffic but is still within walking distance of the shop and beach. The tv only seems to get bbc properly but it’s minor thing.
