  • "An absolutely wonderful Holiday Home, everything we could have wished for, just like being home from home!"

Very comfortable beds, furniture in the lounge, bathroom and showers excellent. The hot tub was an added bonus. An excellent fenced enclosed garden, perfect for our dog! Lovely Garden furniture, which unfortunately we never used with the weather! Kitchen facilities and equipment brilliant. A wonderful welcome pack from the attentive owners. We can't wait to come back!

The housewas decorated for us , which was lovely. The property had everything we needed and the owners had even left us a welcome pack of lovely things. The hot tub was great and we loved spending time in it. Location wise, again this was perfect. A short walk to The Old Albion Inn (where we had some fantastic meals) and the stunning Crantock beach. We also used the local village shop which stocked everything we needed and more!

We arrived to the most wonderful selection of goodies from a local farm shop together with tea, coffee, milk and bread generously provided by Tom and Kelly the owners who couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. There was a small problem with the hot tub and within 30 mins of sending an email, Tom was knocking at our door and as he himself couldn’t fix it he put lots of pressure on the hot tub repair people to come straight out and repair it despite it being their busiest time of the season. Everything worked fine after that. All in all a fantastic comfortable holiday home in a great location with really lovely and attentive owners. Thank you for a great holiday!

It is bright and airy, comfortably furnished both inside and out and very clean. The garden was great for the dogs and was really private. We spent most of our time outside as the weather was great and there was shade from an umbrella. There was a welcome pack which was the best I have ever had at any self catering accommodation and was much appreciated. There was an issue with the road while we were there which was nothing to do with the owners. We were kept informed at all times about what was going on. The house is 5 mins from the village and its pubs and shops. Great walks from the house. Will definitely be back

The owners left goodies on our arrival and their contact details if we should need them. The village store is a short walk away and stocks most essentials. The beach is a longer walk down a quite steep slope, but for the less mobile there is a large car park. We would not hesitate to return to one of the best holiday properties we have stayed in and hope to return in the future.

  • "On the whole the house was clean and sufficed."

The lounge STANK of dogs. The bedding was cheap and the pillows were awful (cheap and flat). There were stains on the mattress protector so obviously it wasn't cleaned since at least the visit before. There was absolutely nothing available such as oil/foil/washing up liquid (which may be a covid thing but VERY unusual in our experience for nothing to be available) and the hot tub - the only reason we were prepared to spend as much on 1 week away - was not very good because it only worked on 1 side at a time. The pump clearly isn't strong enough for the size of the tub. Overall, it didn't stop us from having a nice week away but we definitely wouldn't return - the price asked was just pure greed taking advantage of people needing to go away in this country during the half term. Shame. If it wasn't so expensive we wouldn't have expected so much.

We are sorry that your stay did not live up to your expectations. We have had only consistent positive reviews on everyone's experience at Periwinkle. We wish you raised the fore-mentioned concerns at the time of your stay to allow us the opportunity to look into these further. Upon your arrival we received an email from yourself saying Its a really lovely property and we are looking forward to spending the week. Thank you for the Scones and Prosecco - I am sure they will be enjoyed with no concerns raised. In order to protect our guest and be COVID secure between stays we have not provided oil, etc. However we provided a complimentary welcome package including; tea, coffee, milk, chilled water, scones and Prosecco. Further to this we also provided dishwasher tablets, kitchen sponge, bin bags, kitchen roll and tin foil as standard. I would like to assure all guest the bedding is professionally cleaned, changed and inspected in between every stay. We have had no other negative complaints with regards to the quality. There were no stains on the bedding or mattress protector prior to your stay and any stained bedding is replaced. We are aware pillows can be a personal choice so apologies if you were not happy with the comfort. In future, please let us know of anything that we can do at the time to make your stay more comfortable. With regards to the hot tub, an instruction manual is provided to demonstrate how to operate it. When you contacted us on the Monday of your stay, we responded within 30mins and personally visited to give a demonstration of how to use the hot tub. At the time it was agreed that it was user error and were more than happy with the hot tub. It was also followed up the next day to ensure you were happy, it was confirmed the hot tub was good. We have since spoke to the supplier who concluded it was again unfortunately user error. The hot tub is only 6 months old and is designed for 6 people. We are disappointed that you didn't notify us of any of your concerns either in person, via email, or mobile during your stay. Please feel free to reach out to us directly so we could see how we could have improved your stay with us. Kindest regards, Kelly, Tom and Perrie Property Owner

The garden is again finished to a high standard, well landscaped with the added luxury of the hot tub which is perfect for relaxing in after a long day exploring beautiful Cornwall.
