“Tidewood is a stunning cottage with fabulous views of the countryside, and at certain angles, of the sea too.”

The garden is big and great for the children to run around in and play. We had a mix of weather so the rainy day games and jigsaws were a great addition. The cottage is 1.5 miles from a beach, which we did walk to. The views from it were stunning, but it isn't a sandy beach, so not one for the children to play on. There are several other local beaches though, so that was covered. Thank you for a great holiday.

The property

This fabulous dwelling rests in the hamlet of Welcombe, 1 ½ miles from Welcombe Mouth.

Enjoying a rural location with far-reaching views of the sea, this property is ideal for families looking for a quiet getaway to this unspoilt part of Devon.

The focal point of the property is the impressive kitchen/diner, designed with surrounding glass panels which provide picturesque views of the surrounding countryside all the way down to the sea, offering a wonderful place to prepare and enjoy your meals.

The addition of a woodburning stove is sure to be used during the colder periods.

Look forward to unwinding in the sitting room, hosting a comfortable sofa and a large TV to satisfy your entertainment requirements.

There are three bedrooms at this Welcombe cottage, including a super-king-size double, king-size double and a twin, all of which have been tastefully furnished to provide comfortable sleeping spots.

Completing the interior is the family bathroom with a choice of a bath and a walk-in shower, along with another shower room for added convenience.

Head outside and delight in the spacious garden with a cold drink in hand – a lovely opportunity to take in the gorgeous scenery and coastal views.

Walkers will be delighted to know that the coastal path runs close to the property and gives you splendid views from cliff tops and a range of birds to spot.

If surfing is your passion then you must visit Welcombe Mouth to catch some good waves, or Bude’s sandy beach isn’t too far either.

A fantastic base for unwinding or exploring the beauty of Devon.

About the location

Bude 12 miles; Bideford 14 miles.

A pretty country village just one mile from the high cliffs, rocky coves and golden sands of the north Devon/Cornwall coast, as well as the beach at Welcombe Mouth with its sand, rocks, and some fabulous waves to ride. West, along the coast, are excellent beaches at Widemouth Bay, Sandymouth and Bude. To the north the coast path winds its way toward Hartland Point Lighthouse and on to Clovelly (8 miles) with its steep cobbled streets leading down to the harbour and pub below. No cars allowed here but you can hire a donkey for the ride! In the nearby area are several farm and theme parks, golf courses and outstanding gardens whilst the amenities of Bude are a mere 12 miles away. Everything for an enjoyable holiday.
