  • "A great property, we had a really comfortable week despite being really unlucky with the weather."

The views are spectacular, everything was spotlessly clean, well appointed and maintained. The hot tub turned out to be the perfect rainy day activity for relaxation. We hadn’t left the site before I rebooked a return trip. A shout out to the super friendly team who checked we had everything we needed, were on hand with recommendations and were available in case of emergencies. Couldn’t fault this property and look forward to our return.

It was fantastic to read your lovely thoughts and experiences after your stay with us at 12 Horizon View, Lisa. I am really happy that you enjoyed your holiday, despite the horrendous weather conditions you had to endure! We can't wait to welcome you back in the future, hopefully when the sun will be shining for you! Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "The property was absolutely beautiful!"

Really spacious, well looked after! We loved our week there! Only feedback would be to upgrade the hoover as we couldn't clean up properly as it didn't pick much up and a sweeping brush :)

I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at 12 Horizon View, Natasha and that you had a wonderful week. Thank you for leaving us your thoughts about the hoover, I have spoken with our housekeeping team, who will ensure it is replaced and add a broom too. • "Nice all in all but there were a few things, the main bathroom over flow was hanging down hence we could not use it!"

we reported and got fixed same night but this was completely visible so why not done before, there was leaking window, utensils were dirty, the sofas are ripped and smelly and totally in need of a good clean!! Otherwise the hot tub is great and location is fab, its a shame the lodge needs a bit of TLC for the price you pay!

Thank you very much for leaving feedback for us, we really do appreciate it. I’m so sorry to hear there were a few issues with your lodge, I have passed these on to the relevant teams, so they can be rectified. We are currently in the process of carrying out refurbishments to our lodges, so we can ensure our guests experience is as amazing as it can be. Despite the issues you had, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay with us and I hope you will come back and see us again very soon. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

Lovely views Very Cousy The sofa could do with updating and the tap in the kitchen drips which can be annoying But apart from that was a lovely break in a beautiful location

  • "Overall holiday home pleasant, except for the sofas."

These need attention, there is a split in the fabric of one, both uncomfortable to sit on. Maybe also the cushions be upgraded.

  • "The lodge itself is lovely, the gardens, car park and hot tub are all totally great."

And the amenities in the kitchen and bathroom are really great. The location is scenic and close to some amazing places that we had some great experiences at. We’d absolutely return to Cornwall. But… We found issues with a few things in the lodge, a) the bathrooms could have been cleaner. b) the amount of toilet rolls left was inadequate and no nespresso pods for a machine in the kitchen. If you didn’t want to leave and go find a Morrisons straight away you’d struggle after the first night. However we could overlook all this and recommend until the cows come home, if the next section hadn’t happened. We had some strange experiences. Noises at night on the decking (3am!! Every night) lights that didn’t actually work (bedside) turning on by themselves, drawers opening, TV lights flashing, things going missing, and a child saying “hello”…it was all very strange. And not something we’ve experienced before! The area used to be a theme park and we’re not sure if something sinister has happened… We truly think that the lodge should be cleansed?

  • "Our stay here was fantastic."

It was in a great location and easy access to a lot of activities in the area. The lodge itself was immaculate, very open and had everything we needed to stay for the week. The hot tub was also very clean and well maintained! The outside grounds were beautiful, to which my children spent a lot of time outside enjoying them. The only thing I would say, which isn't within the owner's control, is that there were a few dogs wondering around on their own and had unfortunately pooed right in front of our lodge, and my son stepped in it with bare feet whilst he was playing cricket. And on another 2 occasions, dogs had actually come into the lodge on their own, no owner present, which scared my little boy. This didn't impact on our holiday what so ever though, and we will definitely be returning. Thankyou for a lovely family holiday!

  • "This is a lovely property with fantastic views."

One of the reasons we chose this property was because of the hot tub and this didn't disappoint. It was a really nice surprise to have fresh milk in the fridge ready for our arrival and a few sachets of coffee/tea and sugar. Just what we needed after a long journey. The property was nice and clean. The four poster bed was very comfortable. If we had to find fault with anything it would be that the shower in our en-suite was very slow draining and you did feel like you were stood in a pool while showering but that was the only issue we had. We loved our stay at 12 Horizon view and will definitely return again and most certainly recommend it to others.
