  • "Me and my family had a really lovely time on holiday here."

The lodge was perfect inside and out and was situated in the perfect location for us to explore the surrounding areas without too much driving. Property layout was ideal for us, having a little one, we were able to keep an eye on him with it being on one level.

It's so lovely to hear that you had a wonderful stay at 18 Meadow Retreat and enjoyed the lodge and the beautiful countryside around the resort. Thank you for leaving us your feedback, it is much appreciated. I hope you and your family will be back to visit us again in the very near future. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

Apart from that it's very clean very quiet just how me and my three boys like it after being out all day every day

  • "Really enjoyable stay at our lodge and we will definitely be returning."

It was clean, comfy, welcoming and inviting. We enjoyed the little touches of toiletries, a kitchen essentials box and milk on arrival. The game room had everything we needed - pool cues, chalk, darts for the dart board etc. We have brilliant communication and couldn’t have felt better looked after before and during our stay within which we received a courtesy call. The location is within easy reach of Looe, Fowey, Plymouth and there are shops/pub locally within walking distance. There is also a local kebab house who deliver to the lodge - Daddio’s - which was useful as we were there in torrential rain and didn’t want to venture out. The only tiny things that would make it even better would be: - a stair gate/pull-across gate between kitchen and lounge area but this is only because we had our son who is near 18 months old who decided to take his first independent steps at the lodge ha ha! This meant lots of pulling him away from the oven/microwave as were at his height but we found the pilot switches to turn these off so no big issue. - the floor bar was sticky between the lounge area and the game lodge (near the cinema room) so unsure if anything can be down to prevent this. As I say these really are tiny little things and we cannot speak highly enough of the game lodge! Can’t wait to plan our next visit :)

I am absolutely delighted to hear you had such a wonderful stay with us at 18 Meadow Retreat and made full use of the facilities. We are so honoured that such a special memory with your son was made in one of our lodges! Thank you for your thoughts on the child safety gate, I have passed your idea on to our housekeeping staff to look into. I am so sorry you found the floor sticky, I have spoken with our maintenance team who will be visiting the lodge to rectify this problem. I hope these small issues will not put you off returning to stay with us again soon, we really do look forward to seeing you back. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly loved the lodge and all the facilities it had."

We have stayed in some lodges before at this site and others have been overall nice but needed updating/redecorating in areas whereas this lodge was fantastic. Very modern and the kids loved all the gaming features not to mention the cinema room. As adults we missed having a hot tub but it was a small sacrifice for the enjoyment for the kids.

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback Adam, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. I am delighted you had such an amazing stay, you loved the lodge and that you and your family made full use of all the facilities. We hope you will come back and see us again very soon. • "Arrived promptly as directed; this was a Christmas holiday booking ~ The lodge was very cold [I suspect no previous occupancy that week/s]."

No sign of a Christmas tree or trimmings [never-mind, we’d brought our own… ‘Christmas in a box’]. The housekeeping was okay, dusty with multiple marks across walls and surfaces; we felt better once we’d cleaned through, floors, surfaces, kitchen and bathrooms [rock ‘n roll]… We spent a fair amount of cash on this holiday; I expected more. NB: There are NO TV’s in the bedrooms. Both bedrooms are ensuite too, both a good size and in reasonable condition… Summary ~ This ‘i-games’ lodge is rather good; the cinema room in particular; it’s currently up,for sale on the open market. *** Three Star Good/okay ~ Rating 7.5/10

Thank you very much for your very informative feedback Paul, we really do appreciate your thoughts. I'm happy that you enjoyed your holiday with us despite the issues you encountered and made full use of the “i-games’ lodge. Unfortunately we were not able to provide Christmas trees for all lodges, however they were available on request. Thankfully you brought your own “Christmas in a box”. I am so disappointed to hear your feedback with regards to our housekeeping. I have passed this on to our team, as we always endeavour to make our guest experience a pleasant one. Hopefully, these issues don’t deter you from coming to stay with us again, as we would love to welcome you back. Sally, Guest Service, Charteroak Property Owner

Clean and modern. Contactless check in and out. The lodge has a washing machine, dishwasher, iron, ironing board and a hair dryer. The children loved the games room and cinema room (with Netflix) and we would definitely return. Thank you for having us!

  • "We had a lovely stay."

And enjoyed the resident hedgehog that popped by every evening. As others have stated, we couldn't connect the sound bar in the cinema room. It may be worth leaving instructions being as so many of us seem to of had this issue. All the darts were broken so we went and bought our own. There were a few little niggles here and there but over all it was just the break we needed and would be more than happy to come again.
