  • "We have just returned from a week staying in Lodge 19 Meadow Retreat."

What can I say, it was just beautiful and such a lovely site with beautifully made lodges. This lodge had a bath jacuzzi and it was just so nice to use, very relaxing and a nice touch to have a t.v to watch at the same time! The area is stunning and so peaceful, all you can hear are the birds and we enjoyed listening to the different varieties. The lodge had everything you needed and well equipped, it was so nice they left milk in the fridge for us. The only thing we thought was a negative was the skylight above the bath could maybe have a blind or a curtain between the bath area and bedroom. As others have mentioned the light wakes you up quite early. It was a lovely stay and we would definitely return and we highly recommend staying here. Thanks.

  • "Place was amazing."

Loved it. I would say that a blind on the skylight above the bath would be an idea as the light woke us up early.

  • "We found the booking process was straight forward and without problems."

We arrived at 15:45H ready to take over the propery at 16:00H, unfortunatley only at 15:50H did the clearers desended upon the property and told us they would be ready around 16:20H which they were. So a bit late but ok, can happen. The Property itself was clean, although for a "luxury" property it did look tatty in places. Examples, the couch was shot. No comfort at all, totally sat through and without any support. Urgently needs replacing. Paintwork inside in places tatty and flaked off, repair work on wall above sink not finished. The 1st time we filled the indoor whirlpool and switched on the pumps we were greeted by black slimey stuff coming out of the jets. So after letting it run for an hour, emptying and re filling twice it seemed we had solved this problem. Very strange and a pain was the fact that there were only 4 of everything. 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 knives, forks, spoons, and a total lack of kitchen accessories. And only 1 oven glove ??? @Sykes.. Have you ever tried to remove a hot heavy oven tray/Dish with only 1 oven glove? Is is a no go! There was a dishwasher which we never got around to using, then due to the lack of everything we had to wash everything up in the sink straight away. Very annoying was that on arrival the Wifi was offline and the Provider needed 5 days to get it fixed. Not the fault of Sykes but none the less for me who needed the wifi for work a real problem. If the above issues were sorted before our coming then our stay would have been a 8 or 9 out of 10. The region itself is lovely and well worth a visit.

  • "The place is fantastic we really enjoyed our time there all the extra facilities that you don't find elsewhere e."

    G. cinema, jacuzzi bath with TV and sauna were brilliant. It was very comfortable and everything was very easy to use. The only thing I could say that could be improved is some sort of blind on the window in the roof above the jacuzzi as the daylight comes in very early and woke me up everyday before my normal hour of waking up. There could be a blind on the front door too just for added privacy. In general we loved the place.

  • "We had a power cut in which essentially felt like we had lost a night due to being unable to use facilities."

I cannot fault how this was dealt with; the staff member who attended was really apologetic and fixed this for us - 10/10 service from him. He came the next morning to check with us that it hasn’t happened again. Beautiful location, and lodge. Cleanliness was very good, however some cutlery was dirty, drawers had hairs in them and the outside sitting area was dirty. Otherwise, perfect standards. We had a lovely time away in such a tranquil location.

  • "Superb lodge in great quiet location."

only thing that could enhance the stay might be a curtain across between the bathroom and bedroom area to increase the darkness of a good sleep. Other than that it was perfect

  • "We had a wonderful week walking and on the wet days was able to stay in and enjoy the facilities of 19 Meadow Retreat."

It was the best equipped kitchen we have had for holiday accommodation, including very sharp knives for cooking, ideal for us who still like to cook everything from scratch even when on holiday. We took our blue ray player for the cinema room, but forgot the remote. Turned out not to be a problem as both TVs connect to the internet for prime, netflix, iplayer etc., so we had plenty to watch and enjoy. We didn't have a remote control for the TV over the giant jaquzzi, so were unable to use that TV. Others have commented about the door needing a blind, we agree, but got around the problem by leaving cupboard doors open to block other from being able to see in, not that many people walk past, but just in case of a evening time or when not fully clothed. All in all fantastic and looking to see when we can return.

  • "The lodge was nice but really not worth the amount of money charged we have stayed in many cheaper lodges that have far exceeded our expectations compared to this one."

It was full of flies, the cleaning left a bit to be desired (the previous guests empty pill packets left by the bed, the previous people’s hair left stuck to the sides in the bedroom and the tide marks around the bath), having two nice size TVs but not being able to watch them as there was no signal for over half the time we was here and the bath which liked to randomly switch itself on throughout the night which being in the same room as the bed wasn’t ideal so not quite the relaxing anniversary weekend we were hoping for. And it’s a little patronising the amount of information you send out relating to Covid procedures when one of the maintenance men knocks on the door strolls in no gloves, mask or sanitiser walks through the whole lodge and checks all the taps to see if we had hot water as there had been a gas leak!

  • "Very good break just a couple of items 1."

The Front door has no blInd for privacy, you can buy doors with blinds built in. 2. A Simple handbook so the customer know what all the remote control are for. 3. The outside bin area was overflowing must be emptied more frequently. 4. A fan in kitchen living area should be fitted, I know they’re a cooker hod but needs both.
