The lodge was fantastic lodge with great WiFi to please a 14 year old! The hot tub was also a great way to wind down after busy day. Many thanks to Martha, Tracey and the team for making this an enjoyable stay. Mark

  • "Wonderful lodge!"

Very clean, everything you need and a spectacular view! The hot tub was amazing too! Thank you for the best holiday! Would highly recommend this lodge and the Southern Halt site - beautiful surroundings, well kept and all the staff we spoke to were super friendly and helpful. Golitha Falls is just a 5 minute drive away, absolutely stunning, then finish off with delicious grub at Inkies Smokehouse. A visit to St Nectans Waterfall is well worth a visit, not far from Boscastle. If you have a gluten-intolerant member of the family, Boscastle have the best bakery that does gluten-free pasties, delicious! And the cafe next door does a GF cream tea! Mevagissy, Padstow and Polperro also worth a visit! Just a wonderful place and a wonderful lodge to come back to and relax! Thank you!!

Thank you so much for leaving us your wonderful and informative feedback Aimee, we really do appreciate you taking the time and for recommending so many lovely places to visit. It sounds like you had a very busy holiday and managed to see lots of beautiful parts of Cornwall. I am delighted you loved your lodge and enjoyed using the hot tub too, the view from your decking is indeed stunning! I hope you get the opportunity to come back to see us again in the future, as we would love to welcome you back. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "Amazing stay 2nd year in a row and we'll be booking again for next year."

The place is perfect and situated in the perfect place for you to go anywhere you want too, from Looe which is 15 minutes away a beautiful town, with great beach, shops, to St Ives 1 hour away. The holiday village is beautiful, private and the hot tub just makes it perfect. The lodge is clean, comes with everything you need, literally all you need is your clothes, the lodge is very spacious, clean and modern. Views are amazing

  • "Beautiful lodge, have stayed twice."

Can't fault it at all. However this time we were quite uncomfortable in the master bedroom. The mattress has seen better days and needs replacing. Probably would return if this was changed in the future. Hot tub was amazing. I taught my son to play the Transformer Chess whilst WiFi was down too!

  • "We had a lovely week in this lodge, very spacious and well laid out, great base for the family to explore the local area, and there is lots to do in local area."

The site itself is very quiet which is nice! and this particular lodge has quite a lot of space outside in comparison with others on site which was great for the kids. We really enjoyed the hot tub and just relaxing outside in this picturesque area of the country. The only negatives we experienced was the master bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable and we both had a bad back after sleeping on it, think this was reported on a recent review also? Only 4 forks for our family of 5 only- minor but easily rectified. The evening we arrived someone had turned the boiler switch off in cupboard which we was unaware of so took a while to get heating on and warm, maybe a better instruction to eliminate this for other guests? Overall my family of 5 really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend! with a few minor improvements could be fantastic. Thanks for letting us stay at your lovely lodge.

  • "Wonderful surroundings."

Relaxing and peaceful with nature surrounding you. The family enjoyed the hot tub after busy days out. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. The property was very clean. The only issue we had was with the main bedroom bed. The mattress was so bad that my husband and I had bad backs. We stayed for a week and could not wait to get back to our bed. It was a shame because everything else was perfect.

  • "We had a lovely stay here."

We think we left a birthday card with a £20 voucher inside on the table and I tried to call multiple times and tried to email and got no where to see if it had been found so not the best customer service. Hot tub was amazing, the lodge in general was very clean and tidy! We did see a couple of mice running in and out of under the lodge, but this didn’t really bother us.
