  • "It did look tired in the bathroom and the shower room."

No hot water when we arrived due to the hot tub being filled. This was sorted out later on by a maintenance man. Would have been useful to have instructions on how to use the induction hob. On the whole it was a lovely place and we had a nice time.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Horizon view 5."

The lodge is comfortable, spacious and has all the finishing touches. The owner of this property has thought through every aspect, from the nursery for our baby, to a baby monitor - a box of toys for the bigger children, blender, high chair I could really go on! The property was clean, and the hot tub was fantastic and easy to use. The heating was great, sometimes a bit too hot but again easy to use. The WiFi worked really well. We took our own fire stick to use in the evenings and we had no problem connecting to the WiFi. You don’t feel over looked, even though you have neighbours. Overall a fantastic stay, and we can’t wait to come back!! Thank you so much

That is great thank you for your fantastic review, we are glad you enjoyed every aspect of your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back again. Thank you. Property Owner

Lovely lodge , apart from all the laminate flooring lifting throughout the property because of wet feet from the hot tub , laminate flooring doesn’t do well with water all needs replacing, prices are a bit steep at times for what u get , and Wi-Fi only worked last few days of the holiday

  • "When we arrived at the lodge it was absolutely beautiful, gorgeous views and everything we wanted for our first family holiday."

Unfortunately things quickly went downhill. The hot tub was cold on the first evening, so we gave up at half 9 and went to bed. In the morning there was no hot water so we had cold showers. We found a button on the boiler for hot water so used that throughout our stay, however the shower was always scolding hot or freezing. We emailed and called the number provided but heard nothing back. The WiFi was also down for the majority of our stay. Other than that the lodge was lovely, very comfortable beds and the nursery was perfect for our 7 month old.

Thank you for your feedback and are glad you thought the accommodation was ideal for your family. To confirm that the issue with both the Hot Tub and Hot water have now been resolved, we have checked the WIFI and it is also working. Property Owner

  • "A very nice holiday home with a few problems that impacted our stay."

No hot water throughout the entire stay, no instructions on how to get hot water either, we flicked the override switch for an extra hour of hot water however it lasted approximately 2 minutes before going cold! Do not expect to use the hottub on the day you arrive, we stayed for 2 nights and wasn’t able to use our hottub as much as we wanted as it was cold until 10pm on arrival night which was very disappointing. The jets in the hottub are also very poor, little to no power and it was basically like sitting in a hot bath. Hottub was one of the main reasons we booked and we were very disappointed with it. However the beds were very comfy, sofas too and the inside of the property was nice.

  • "What a getaway!"

Was just what we needed. A beautiful, spacious well equipped property in a tranquil setting with outstanding views. My stayed with our 6 year old and 18 month old and the lodge had everything we could need. The beds were comfy so everyone slept well after a day out. And sometimes we didn’t do much at all and enjoyed each other’s company relaxing in the lodge. The kitchen is full of all the bits you need for cooked family meals to be had around the table with the stunning views as our backdrop. And of course the hot tub! Just a lovely little addition that enabled my husband and I to enjoy a bit of luxurious relaxation in the evenings once the kids were in bed. Perfection.

Site is very quiet, and had excellent views. The view from our lodge was amazing. Lodge was spacious and clean and today. Decking space with sunken hot tub was excellent and not overlooked by anyone. Small 10 minute walk to local pub (highway man) this had excellent outside seating area. Area was ideal for drives out to most locations. Highly recommended

  • "The place was absolutely great however from a privacy point of view, I think it’d be great if there was a curtain across the front door so you had the option of having it open/closed."

My fiancé also had a few of the what we assume maintenance staff wave in through the windows and he was in just his dressing gown. Considering our window view was out onto the countryside, it was a bit of a shock to see a man waving through to say the least! Overall though, absolutely lovely place and we would definitely recommend to friends and family. The baby room was excellent and our son loved it. We did have to move the cot away from the wall though as the light switch was within arms reach so would’ve been an interesting bedtime if we hadn’t of moved it slightly!

  • "We had a fantastic week away at Nursery Lodge."

The facilities were perfect for our needs. We went with a 19 month old so the nursery room was perfect for sleeping arrangements as normally we have to set up a travel cot in a room where it doesnt normally fit. The sofa was extremely comfortable as was the double bed. The location was perfect for travelling around cornwall and we had access to everything we needed in the nearby location. The only thing we struggled with was teaspoons as we only had 4 so it meant washing them up more frequently than anything else as we had in excess of 10 of everything else including plates, glasses and mugs etc. The addition of the hot tub was great but due to weather conditions we didnt get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked. I can see us returning here in the not so distant future. We had a fabulous time away as a family.

  • "It was a lovely stay, clean with many facilities."

Hot tub was lovely and maintained daily. The only thing I had to knock a point off for is that I was given an incorrect code to enter the park. Luckily, a resident appeared and gave us the correct code to use. My only suggestion for improvement would be to include salt and pepper in the kitchen, we had to get some sachets from McDonald’s!

  • "Hi, We recently stayed at Southern Halt the Horizon Lodge for my birthday."

My first complaint is I received an email prior to our visit confirming location and lodge and all the codes for the gates and keys safes, which I was very impressed with, until I tried to use the code that was given on the email that didn’t work. I tried is various times and even tried the key safe code which also didn’t work. After trying the codes and waiting around for someone to come finally another guest at Southern Lodge spotted we were struggling to get in and they kindly gave us the code. We checked into our lodge (once we finally got onto the premises) with no problems. Lodge was beautiful, I was totally stunned. Decor, furniture, hot tub and views were lovely! At that point I had forgotten about the disappointment of the gate code being wrong and was looking forward to a relaxed stay. That relaxed feeling only last for total time of 30 mins, as when we went to turn the heating on nothing happened. I called the number given on the email for the out of hours service and gentle picked up the phone and told me I needed to press the reset button and it would work. If it didn’t then to call him back. Reset button was pressed gave it another half hour and it still didn’t come on. I called the guy back who said he would get an electrician to us within the hour. He then called me back and said that the electrician was on his way but they may not be able to fix over the weekend and that they may need to move us or supply us with portable heaters! The electrician arrived and fixed the heating after being here for nearly an hour! That’s an hour of our holiday time we have lost not to mention all the phones calls that had to be made.
