  • "We enjoyed our stay and liked the upgraded furniture, the only suggestion we would make would be to have a hand rail by the patio."

Apart from that, everything was perfect and we would like to book again for next year.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "A little bit disappointed with the property."

Despite it being advertised as recently refurbished, it still felt dated and tired. Seems refurbish was limited to a new carpet in two rooms, new sofa and a fresh coat of paint. Otherwise it was still need of a lot work. It has also not been cleaned properly after the last use, as there was mould in the fridges and dusty surfaces. The oven also needs a good clean. We had to hoover the the whole place as soon as we got there as that had clearly not been done either. The mattresses in all rooms need replacing. One of the single mattresses was so bad it ended up causing one of party guest a bad shoulder ache. Was not suitable to sleep on at all. It’s definitely unfortunate as the property is situated in a lovely area with beautiful views.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, we do apologize you did not find the property appropriate for your stay, your comments have been passed onto our maintenance and housekeeping teams to look into these issues. John Brays Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely property with excellent location Boiler worked really well so lots of hot water at all times lovely open space and very practical There were lots of boxes left lying around in the utility area (from outdoor umbrella recently purchased for example)."

This shouldn't have been our job to put these away. The cleaner / previous tenants hadn't done a good job cleaning up and the fridge wasn't clean at all Lots of mud on the outdoor patio which again we had to tidy up. Just needed some care and attention. From the property perspective, it was exactly as described. Some new kitchen furniture (table) and even the kitchen units themselves wouldn't go a miss Kitchen utensils were very basic (knifes, forks, etc) I can't imagine it would take a huge amount of money to make this property very nice indeed.

Thank you for your feedback from your recent stay at Turnstones. We are pleased you enjoyed the property and its location. We are sorry for the issues with the housekeeping and will ensure these are raised with the cleaning company. We do hope that we get the opportunity to welcome you back to Cornwall in the future. • "Our reservations regard the property's upkeep."

After 3 years renting it we were delighted to see some new white goods. Also new sofa and fresh bedroom carpet. However, the crockery is rubbish and single beds poor. Hall pictures still weird and STILL NO WiFi. Boyh the main bedroom doors to the loo and to the passage are stiff and misbehaving. The kitchen fridge isnt really chilled enough and the shelves in its door are needing a good clean. We pay the rent because we love the location, not the house. And considering the rent, some more investment is overdue. NB I have a pic on my phone of rainwater running down the inner porch wall near the burglar alarm, if you'd like me to send it. Thank you for asking.

Thank you for you comments. We are pleased you like the improvements made to the property and I will ask the maintenance team to look into the other issues raised. We hope you join us back in Cornwall very soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

  • "This is our 3rd time staying at Turnstones and we enjoyed it just as much."

The property has been updated since last year and it is brilliantly equipped. We met and chatted to the owners who couldn’t have been more helpful. It was lovely to see them. It is a perfect holiday house. We will return!! We missed having a hose to hose off our wetsuits but this could be due to the ban.

  • "It’s a great location and great space but good grief it’s tired!"

New mugs, new kitchen utensils (peeler and grater were rubbish/in 4 pieces) The mugs are all dreadful and there were only 4 mis matching wine glasses The sofas which were fantastic last year were starting to peel. I understand that it’s a holiday cottage and not a first home but just a bit of money/love spent will perk it up and then we would love to come back.

Thank you for your feedback and bringing these issues at the property to our attention. Both the owner and us here at John Bray are carrying out extensive works at the property over the winter period to get it ready and in shape for the season in 2023'. This self - catering holiday bungalow has a traditional feel inside with lots of glass and windows inviting the outside in.

The accommodation consists of a king sized bedroom and two twin bedded rooms. The downstairs has an open plan kitchen with dining area which is bright and welcoming.

There is a separate spacious sitting room and a utility room plus a laundry area.

There is plenty of space on the lawned garden for fun and games and a useful raised terrace.

At the rear is a secluded patio, an ideal spot for a sun worshipper to relax with the papers or a good book.

The lovely Daymer bay is sheltered by sand dunes and the clear calm waters are gentle and safe for the very young and old..

The rocky cove of Greenaway is also just a walk away and is a haven for shell seekers and perhaps a spot of crabbing or shrimping in one of the many rock pools to be found there on a low tide.

The endless coastal paths are to be found just below the property and could guide you along the estuary towards Rock or in the opposite direction towards the waves and cliffs at Polzeath.

About the location

DAYMER BAY

Polzeath 1.3 miles; Rock 2.3 miles.

Daymer Bay and the village of Trebetherick were both loved by Sir John Betjeman and are unquestionably special. With a huge appeal to both the young and not so young, Daymer Bay has recently been voted one of the best beaches in the world! St. Enodoc Church, once buried in the sand, is within comfortable walking distance of Daymer Bay and is the resting place of Sir John Betjeman. Daymer Bay holds great appeal for wind surfers, kite surfers and paddle boarders, with the gentle waves rolling up the estuary. There is enormous fun too for small children with buckets and spades and fishing in the rock pools. At low tide you can walk across the sand to the village of Rock to indulge in a spot of retail therapy or a bite to eat at one of the many delicious eateries, or catch the short ferry ride and explore the delights of Padstow. Up from the coast path as it runs from Daymer Bay is Highcliffe, nestling between Polzeath and Trebetherick, both of which boast a number of pubs, restaurants and village stores all offering a wide variety of fresh quality produce. The properties at Highcliffe have the advantage of being within easy reach of Daymer, Polzeath and Greenaway - Greenaway being the name given to the clifftop area, beach and small cove with rock pools overlooking the Atlantic beyond that lies between Daymer and Polzeath.
