  • "We had a great stay, clean and comfortable."

It was unfortunate that the washing machine wasn't working but we were refunded immediately by sykes. The drain in the shower could do with unblocking as we had to use a towel on the floor to stop flooding. As could the sinks do with being plunged, water drains away really slowly. We would, however, definitely recommend as a great location and property to stay at, and would happily return.

Many thanks for your feedback as this help us keep on top of the important upkeep of our property. The drainage can be slow and is something we do try to keep on top of. I'm pleased that, taking the above into consideration, you would happily return and you had an enjoyable stay. Property Owner

  • "Very spacious, kitchen is very well equipped."

Bed comfy, linen clean. Beautiful views. Only thing wrong was the outdoor furniture could have done with a wash down. Also the water flowed away very slowly so couldn’t use the rain fall shower

Many thanks for taking time to leave us feedback which is much appreciated. We will certainly address the points you have raised and hope to make the apartment faultless. We do hope these things didn't detract too much from you enjoyment of you holiday. Regards Tracy Property Owner

  • "Thank you for a lovely stay."

The apartment was very well equipped with everything we could need. It was even better than the pictures. We loved the view and the location. This is the best holiday accommodation we have stayed in, and we have stayed in a few. We very much hope to come back. We enjoyed the local pub and also The Beach House in Seaton. It was great to be able to walk along the beach to Seaton. Two lovely villages for the price of one! The only thing that could be improved in the property is I couldn’t work out to adjust the heated towel rail in the main bathroom which was very hot throughout our stay and scorching to touch so we had to be careful with our little girl. It was excellent for drying the towels though!! Thank you again for a wonderful stay. I am so sad to be home!

Many thanks for taking time to complete your feedback. We note your comment about the towel rail and will take a look at this. So glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Property Owner

Stunning sea views from the balcony which gets the afternoon sun, perfect for relaxing after a morning’s walking! Lots of beautiful places to visit locally and plenty of walks with fabulous views. We had a great stay and would love to return one day. Perfect for our pooch too, who had the best time and enjoyed the beach walk between Downderry and Seaton ❤️

Thanks so much for taking the time to post your feedback. It means a lot to us to know we are ticking the right boxes and glad you had a super staycation. Property Owner

  • "This was an absolutely amazing holiday home."

It was incredibly well equipped with everything you needed or might have forgotten to bring. The beds were super comfy and well decorated throughout. Amazing balcony with gorgeous views. When we arrived there was tea, milk etc and even welcome cream teas which was perfect as our shopping wasn't arriving until later. Pub, restaurant, beach and shop all very close. We loved our stay even though the weather wasn't the best. Highly recommend

Very clean very spacious exactly as described. The property is in a charming little village with everything you'd need. And the views from the balcony are stunning and what better way to spend an evening after exploring Cornwall than to sit there with a drink and watch the world go by. Highly recommended.

Has everything you could possibly need. The quality of the beds, bedding, furnishing was excellent. The balcony was fabulous. A great place to sit in the sun and watch the world go by. Unfortunately we had to leave a bit earlier than intended due to illness but would definitely love to go back.

  • "What a wonderful week we had at Downderry."

The first thing to say is heed the travel directions and approach via Seaton as Sat Nav can try to send you along some VERY narrow and sometimes steep and windy lanes. A Stone’s Throw was immaculate and well equipped with everything you could wish for to comfortably self cater and the additional touches, fresh milk and scones, jam and cream were especially welcome and much appreciated. Will miss my early morning coffee on the balcony admiring the sea view. As a base, it’s well situated to explore many sites and attractions and there are excellent local restaurants and cafes providing plenty of eat out options. Would gladly return and would highly recommend.

Thanks for the great feedback. Much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "We had a fabulous week staying in this apartment and Downderry."

It is wonderfully located to the beach, which is beautiful and not over crowded even in half term. If you want a slightly more active beach, but still not crowded, stroll along the shore to the right and you’ve got it, along with more places to eat. The apartment had almost everything needed; it lacked a drying rack which sounds silly to worry about but you either have to use the tumble dryer or hang over the outside furniture. Not a big deal but one I wasn’t expecting. Cleanliness took a slight hit because when I went to use it it had the last guest spilt food in it, but we didn’t use it in the end anyway in the end. The thoughtfulness for our dog was a lovely touch. We took our own bed and blankets but the provided ones were a bonus as meant extra covers so he could come up on the sofa which he loves. The view was amazing to wake up to and have sundowners to. But I can honestly say, the mattresses and pillows were by far the comfiest I have slept on when staying in a holiday home. I now want to change all mine! I would highly recommend staying here to anyone if you’re reading the reviews to help make up your mind.

Firstly apologies for the oversight with the pan. Cleanliness is something we pride ourselves in and unfortunately on this occasion that has been missed. Customers are expected to leave the apartment in a clean state but we do try to check what nothing has been broken or left dirty. Thanks for letting us know. We will consider your suggestion of a rack to put in the bathroom to aid beach drying however there are 2 heated towel rails in the bathroom which perhaps we need to make clearer in the welcome pack. So glad you had a lovely stay and overall you would recommend us. The pillows are wonderful and I need to get some too! Property Owner

  • "Fabulous apartment!"

Incredibly well equipped and spotless all to a very high standard. Beautiful decor and furnishings. We were lucky enough to have some sunny days (in February) and it was so lovely to be able to sit on the balcony, soaking up the beautiful view. Great walking our dog along the beach to Seaton and back, meeting lots of friendly dogs/owners doing the same thing. We also saw the most amazing sunsets from Downderry beach. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Thanks very much for you feedback and so pleased you had a lovely stay. It's great to know from our guests, as new owners, that we have got it right. Property Owner

  • "Great views from balcony."

Flat modern, clean with all amenities. I didn't read instructions to access keysafe well so initial difficulty getting in but Sykes and owner helpful. Easy access to beach, good shop and pub very near so a bit of rain and cold in February wasn't a problem.

Thanks for you feedback. As a result we looked again at our arrival instructions and made some amendments to ensure they were clear and happy to hear you found us helpful. Property Owner
