“The cottage was extremely comfortable with comfy beds and furniture.”

The kitchen was very well equiped if you wish to cook.

The kitchen was very well equiped if you wish to cook. We had a lovely relaxing week with a walk on the beach just round the corner if you wanted to stretch your legs. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Many thanks for a lovely week. Jennifer and Lewis Edwards from Nottinghamshire

The property

Situated in the 'forgotten corner' of Cornwall, on the scenic coast road in the village of Downderry, is the spacious holiday home Phoenix Rise.

With sea views and an enclosed garden, where the sun can be enjoyed throughout the day, there is plenty of room to relax here with loungers and a choice of furniture to enjoy outdoor living, and alfresco dining to the full.

There is ample parking directly outside, a rarity in this peaceful village, which with the garden gives the bungalow a very private feel.

Suitable for either a family or couples, either for long summer days on the beach or invigorating walks along the stunning South West Coast Path throughout the year, this really is a most homely retreat for all seasons.

There are three bedrooms; a spacious master bedroom with a king size bed and an en-suite shower room, as well as a double and a twin.

The bathroom has a bath for a leisurely soak along with a shower, suitable for all the family.

The sitting room is bright and airy, and leads out to the conservatory, a delightful spot to enjoy meals at any time of day, prepared in the well-equipped kitchen.

When it comes to dining out, one of the most renowned restaurants in the area, The Blue Plate is literally a 5-minute walk away with a continental-style café, delicatessen and house bakery adding to the attraction.

Stroll along the beach to Seaton and a choice of pubs and restaurants, where you can watch the sun go down whilst enjoying a meal or drink, before the delightful walk back to Phoenix Rise, a perfectly situated holiday home.
