Badgers Sett Holiday Cottages

This group of three charming barn conversions rest amidst Bodmin Moor, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with beautiful walks to discover, and challenging climbs up some of the tallest spots in Cornwall. Upon arrival, the heart-warming grounds invite you inside, home to a collection of plants and shrubs, introducing you to the delights of it all. Badgers Sett Holiday Cottages comprise wonderful living areas; each elevated by exposed beams and stonework, for an almost enchanting finish. Whether you are relaxing on the sumptuous sofas, or dining with your loved ones, this warm and cosy set-up is perfect for a memorable evening. A stable door opens out to the garden should you wish to stroll outside for some leisure time, perhaps to enjoy some peace and quiet on the furniture, or even gather for a barbecue. The bedrooms are homely and calming, continuing the same sense of charm, with Velux windows welcoming natural light inside, and well-coordinated furnishings adding character to the formation. The country cottage feel flows effortlessly throughout, promising a wonderful stay all-year-round, even benefiting from a woodburning stove to uplift those winter months. Located on the edge of Bodmin Moor a few miles from Golitha Falls, there are several pubs within a five mile radius. A superb base for walkers, guests can also bring along a pet (to Rosemary and Lavender cottage), so you can both stroll the destination when the sun is shining. This ancient location is home to mystical standing stones, old buildings dating from medieval times and thousands of years’ worth of tin mining heritage. The nearby town of Launceston, fondly thought of as the Gateway to Cornwall, can be found to the north east, with notable Georgian buildings set around its central square, and romantic ruins of a Norman castle at the outskirts. In the other direction, the historic town of Bodmin lies to the south west. A wonderful group of cottages nicely appointed for touring the local area and beyond.

About the location

BODMIN MOOR

Bodmin 10 miles; Launceston 14 miles

The vast and rugged Bodmin Moor, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, forms over 150 square miles of striking, rocky landscape, with much of it declared a Site of Specific Scientific Importance. This ancient location is home to mystical standing stones, old buildings dating from medieval times and thousands of years’ worth of tin mining heritage. There are plenty of beautiful walks to discover, with challenging climbs up some of the tallest spots in Cornwall, offering fantastic far-reaching views towards both the north and south coast on fine days. The nearby town of Launceston, fondly thought of as the Gateway to Cornwall, can be found to the north east, with beautiful Georgian buildings set around its central square, and romantic ruins of a Norman castle at the outskirts. In the other direction, the historic town of Bodmin lies to the south west, with a host of exciting attractions including its Courtroom Experience, the Bodmin Jail, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, or a trip to see each of the seven holy wells, which lie dotted around the town. Ancient Jamaica Inn, which lies in the heart of the moor, brims with smuggling and pirate history; almost 300 years old, it's celebrated in Daphne du Maurier’s popular novel and is well worth a visit. With much to see and do, and stunning scenery all around, Bodmin Moor is a delightful destination for your holiday.
