  • "We loved our stay at Lavender Cottage from the first minute and being greeted by the Owners with a welcome and a Cornish Cream Tea!"

The cottage was everything we had hoped for, well equipped and immaculate as are the garden and outside space. The beautiful Cornish coasts, north and south and many other places of interest are within easy reach and there is a pub serving good food two miles away. Julie and Neil work very hard to make sure every guest's holiday experience is a happy one and nothing is too much trouble.

Thank you Joan, It was an absolute pleasure to meet you both and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Lavender Cottage and got to explore our beautiful Cornish coasts :) Kind regards. Julie x Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our time in Lavender Cottage as it was so relaxing and quiet, in fact the only sounds we could hear were the birds singing in the morning."

The cottage met all our expectations in cleanliness and we wanted for nothing. The cream tea on arrival was most welcome. Our dog also enjoyed her holiday as she had a lovely big garden to run around in. We would definitely recommend Lavender Cottage for those people who want a quiet and relaxing break or for families who want a safe haven for their children as the garden can offer them plenty of “play time” in a safe environment. They can also enjoy the wildlife that continually frequents the garden, including a fox I saw one morning.

  • "Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location."

The cottage has everything we needed and so much more. Julie and Neil made us all feel so welcome, including our dog with the extra bits like bed for her and towels. We would highly recommend Badgers Sett to anyone and hope to return some day.

  • "The cottage was delightful, homely and extremely clean."

We packed the car up with everything we needed from towels to kitchen utensils but needn't have bothered as the cottage had everything you could possibly need. The complimentary homemade bread , milk and cream teas were very welcoming as were the owners, whose attention to detail was incredible. Badgers Sett is a highly recommended Cornish holiday destination..

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Lavender cottage and we will definitely recommend it to our family and friends."

If you do decide to book, make sure you book lavender cottage as it opens on to a large green space at the back, where you can play badminton and football. It kept my kids entertained for hours. The cottage is located near the Goliath falls and not far from the Jamaican Inn. We are so glad we chose it as our base as it was easy to drive to all the other parts of Cornwall such as St Ives, Eden Project, Polperro, etc. It was really kind of Julie for providing us with scones, clotted cream, jam, milk and a really nice loaf of bread upon our arrival. Nothing beats a nice cup of tea after a long drive to Cornwall.

About the location

BODMIN MOOR

Bodmin 7 miles; Launceston 14 miles

The vast and rugged Bodmin Moor, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, forms over 150 square miles of striking, rocky landscape, with much of it declared a Site of Specific Scientific Importance. This ancient location is home to mystical standing stones, old buildings dating from medieval times and thousands of years’ worth of tin mining heritage. There are plenty of beautiful walks to discover, with challenging climbs up some of the tallest spots in Cornwall, offering fantastic far-reaching views towards both the north and south coast on fine days. The nearby town of Launceston, fondly thought of as the Gateway to Cornwall, can be found to the north east, with beautiful Georgian buildings set around its central square, and romantic ruins of a Norman castle at the outskirts. In the other direction, the historic town of Bodmin lies to the south west, with a host of exciting attractions including its Courtroom Experience, the Bodmin Jail, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, or a trip to see each of the seven holy wells, which lie dotted around the town. Ancient Jamaica Inn, which lies in the heart of the moor, brims with smuggling and pirate history; almost 300 years old, it's celebrated in Daphne du Maurier’s popular novel and is well worth a visit. With much to see and do, and stunning scenery all around, Bodmin Moor is a delightful destination for your holiday.
