This cottage has obviously just been decorated and everything looked brand new. It has been finished to a very high standard and has lovely touches like gin glasses, coffee machine, blue tooth speaker etc. The weather wasn’t the best but you are spoiled for choice of lovely restaurants, bars and pubs in Charlestown. We especially liked the wine bar. You are perfectly placed for attractions such as Eden and Gardens of Heligan which can be enjoyed despite the weather. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen and we also noticed a BBQ which we didn’t get to use this time. It’s definitely a five star property and we intend to visit again should we ever get out of lock down.

This property is part of the Cornish & Devonshire Cottage Holidays collection.
Over 500 carefully selected and perfectly located Cornwall and Devon properties, helping you create your perfect holiday.

The property

Set within a scenic position on the harbour, enjoying views of the tall ships and of the Cornish coast, The Old Smokehouse can be found resting within the idyllic and historic town of Charlestown.

Still containing some of its original features and combining contemporary charm, this cottage has been lovingly converted into the perfect family holiday home or couple's retreat.

The open-plan living space boasts a wonderful social aspect; with an Atlantic theme throughout the property, in keeping with its delightful harbourside location, this room invites everyone to gather after a day of exploration to relax on the leather sofa to watch a film on the Smart TV.

The well-equipped contemporary kitchen also has charming traditional features and offers every essential for preparing a delicious dinner for the group.

Why not enjoy fresh seafood brought from the coast?

Indulge in tasty treats at the dining table before an evening of board games.

Moving onto the first floor you can find the two bedrooms, both with their own feature wallpaper and TVs to keep you entertained in the evenings.

You'll find an impressive king-size and an equally elegant twin, the perfect set up for a family of four, all with their own ample storage space boasting its own unique style.

In the mornings, make use of the coffee maker provided and take a book from the shelf before heading to the front lawn with your canine companion by your side to begin your day amongst the fresh breezes of the harbour in these truly tranquil settings.

This attractive property is conveniently situated in the midst of Charlestown’s Georgian harbour, a fabulous spot which has served as the setting for TV’s Poldark series and where you can discover The Tall Ships.

You will be spoilt for choice by the selection of fine pubs and restaurants catering for all tastes.

Nearby Carlyon Bay has a fabulous coastline with some lovely walks, sheltered coves and traditional fishing villages (such as Mevagissey) for a wonderful day out.
