  • "Location superb."

Everything within walking distance. Cottage has been tastefully decorated. We had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Shame no welcome hamper, have stayed in many cottages and always a little something left, just a nice added touch? Am sure anyone would enjoy their stay in Harbour hideaway, in delightful Looe.

Glad you enjoyed your stay Amanda. A welcome box with their logo is usually supplied through our property managers with teas, coffees, biscuits and kitchen items as well as a supply of capsules for the drinks machine so we will pass your comments on for clarification. Property Owner

  • "The alleyway to the property needs a good clean."

Bins were not emptied when we arrived and the WiFi is poor on the top level. I would put on the advert that the seaguls are unbearable day and night and that the pub is very load until 1am and the kids room is window is near this. Lovely property

Glad you enjoyed the property. We came down the day you left and agree the alleyway needed a ckean - the seagulls certainly are particularly active at the moment, dropping moss from the rooves into the alleyway which we have thoroughly cleaned. The local fishermen said they are excited by a glut of mackerel at the moment plus a good supply of pasties and chips. It is a shame we were not aware about our contractor not having collected the rubbish as scheduled or the WiFi issue as we could have sorted these immediately - the WiFi booster had been disconnected and there is now a full signal throughout the house and the bins have been emptied and cleaned. Glad to see from the visitors book that you enjoyed the house and many local attractions. Property Owner

  • "Very clean fresh, light and airy cottage."

Really comfortable beds, well equipped. The only slight downside was the dropping off of luggage, especially on a busy friday afternoon. The other slight criticism was that we were under the impression that there were 2 bathrooms, when in fact it was one toilet and sink and one shower room. ( with 6 adults wanting to shower ,we had a little wait) However the bathroom was a good size with a great shower. The cottage is very handy for the town. Thank you.

Glad you enjoyed Caroline. You are right, the downside of being so central is luggage drop off but there is a luggage delivery service that can be pre booked that is on the joining instructions. Hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "Dont judge a book by the cover, the outside and small alleyway is misleading, but this leads into a beautiful well mentaind three storey home, the guests comfort has been thought out and the fittings and equipment is to a very high standard, the building is situated in the heart of the village, so great to get to shops, Quay, pubs and restaurants, its very close to a pub and on a couple of occasions the singing from a band could be heard but it went quite from 23:00 so no big problem, the car park nearest the home is called Buller Quay this was very busy, my wife and I enjoyed our stay here very much and would recommend this property without hesitation."

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Harbour Hideaway."

Great location- walk out of the door and straight in the middle of all the shops, harbour, beach etc. Very well kept property, clean, tidy and modern. Big car park 0.5 miles away, if you are here for a week worth getting a weekly permit. Drop off of luggage was fine, could get close enough to property, just need one person to stay with car and another to handle luggage. Would recommend!

Thanks for your feedback Tim. Glad you enjoyed your stay and the location in the heart of East Looe. Property Owner

  • "This really is a hideaway but at the same time so central for everything in Looe."

The cottage was actually better than I thought it would be and it looked lovely on the website. Bright and very clean with beautiful views of the Harbour. Very tastefully decorated, loved the feature walls and the accessories from local gift shops. Everything you need, modern kitchen with dishwasher, coffee machine. Tea, coffee, sugar supplied. Dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid etc. Beds are comfortable, plenty of storage etc. lovely shops, pubs, restaurants, takeaways, 2 Coop stores all on your doorstep. Sarah’s pasty’s and Catch fish and chips highly recommend. Loads of useful info and advice in the cottage. The only downside is parking, definitely go in Millpool car park and get a weekly season ticket online, it’s about a 5-10 minute walk and follow instructions to get nearer the cottage for unloading luggage etc. on arrival/departure. Not a problem as such but just something to be aware of. Thank you for a wonderful week. We’ll be back.

  • "We had a fantastic weekend at Harbour Hideaway, the house is amazing and tastefully decorated."

Beds were very comfortable and room sizes were ideal. Looe has become a happy place for us, so it was lovely to see all the little pun signs on the walls spread around the house. The Christmas tree was a bonus, we wasn't expecting it at all and was a nice surprise, especially as we went to Fowey Christmas Market, it put us nicely in the Christmas mood. We noticed some damp on the first floor of the propoerty in the bathroom and twin bedroom, nothing much but may get out of hand if it's not treated correctly. The kitchen had everything we needed and was well equipped, the whole house is very well laid out. The views are amazing, it was lovely to wake up and see the harbour and we drank our morning coffee on the balcony with great views of the river. I loved the clock at the top of the stairs and it has inspired me to look for one myself, I also loved the painting of 'Looe Lovers' by the dining table, I'm on the hunt to find the print from the local artist. As ever, there is always something to do in Looe, we walked on the beach and on Banjo Pier, had a coffee overlooking St George's Island from Hannafore and we drove to Tannd Bay and Lantic Bay. We look forward to coming back and thank you for a wonderful stay at Harbour Hideaway. PS. If you know where I could source the print 'Looe Lovers' - please let me know!!!

Well-suited for a family or group of friends, this superb property dates back over 100 years and retains some of its original features while having had a contemporary makeover in teal and mustard hues.

Light and airy, with a quality finish, you will be welcomed by an original staircase leading to the upper two floors.

On the ground floor is a luxurious king-size bedroom with bedside tables holding touch-dimmable bedside lamps with USB charging points, dressing table with mirror and lighting, sliding mirrored wardrobes along with a chair where you can relax in front of the view down the passageway of the houses and trees of West Looe above the fishermen’s sheds.

A utility area with concealed washer/dryer separates this room from the main bathroom where you can prepare for the day ahead, home to a WC, an ample walk-in shower and a vanity unit with plenty of space for hanging towels.

Making your way to the second floor, the staircase curves up to the magnificent, open-plan living space with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area and boasts stylish teal, mustard and grey accents and a beautiful oak floor.

Four windows and patio doors in the space, each offer a different view and allow an abundance of natural of light, whatever the weather.

Leading off the living area is a balcony where you can sit and admire the wonderful views, watching the boats going in and out, looking over the original slate rooftops and towards West Looe, maybe while even enjoying a drink or cream tea.

Settle down to enjoy an evening in front of the 43" TV, perfect for indulging in your favourite Netflix and Amazon shows while sinking into either the four-seater or two-seater sofas.

About the location

LOOE

Polperro 5 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
