  • "The property was perfect for our little family of three adults and two children."

The views from the ground floor and upstairs were stunning. It was a bit of a walk up steps to reach the property but we got more used to it as the days went on, and I felt fit by the end of the week. Looe is stunning too. Loved the ambience and buzz and the beach really good.

  • "The cottage is superb."

From the minute you walk through the front door to the amazing views at the back. Couldn't ask for better. Full set of utensils in the kitchen, should you wish to cook, so many restaurants to choose from if you don't. The daily challenge of the hill and steps was interesting, even if you told us we'd had too many pasties!! Had a great stay and would definitely return.

  • "Fabulous cottage."

Best we have stayed in. Stunning location. Everything in the cottage you would need. Clean and comfortable. Access to the town is down some steep steps but the listing makes that very clear. We would recommend the cottage. The owners were very polite and helpful. A very positive experience and a fantastic holiday location.

Dear Jonathan Thank you for your lovely feedback and 100% score. We hope we can welcome you back to Looe and Two Tides Cottage sometime in the near future. Kind regards Andy and Sarah Property Owner

  • "The cottage was superb, well presented and very clean and had little touches that I was impressed with."

Air fresheners and toilet roll in the toilets, dishwasher tablets and a fully stocked kitchen of utensils. The welcome bottle of milk and wine was very appreciated too. The view was lovely and worth the two hills and 86 steps to see them

  • "On the negative side…."

Parking Seagulls (nothing you can do about that) World’s tiniest fridge for family with three teenagers - it put us off cooking to be honest Clothes took forever to dry inside the house - a big problem when there are 5 of us and only a teeny tiny airer We didn’t like not having a dining table we could all fit around One of us got food poising from eating a dodgy sausage sandwich from a cafe! On the positive side Very clean Cute house Lovely views Thanks for wine and milk Friendly neighbour and cleaners

Dear Alison, Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry that you and your family had issues on holiday most of which appear to have had nothing to do with our cottage. The clothes airer is a standard size but there is an outside washing line and pegs provided. We are sorry that our fridge freezer didn't reach your expectations, fridge is a standard under-counter size and the freezer above is over 20 litres in capacity and the kitchen dining area is clearly pictured in our listing. Best Wishes, The Owners Two Tides Cottage Property Owner

  • "The cottage was wonderful."

Beautiful views and great facilities. The wifi strength wasn’t very good, and the walk up/down the hill/steps was horrendous. We will definitely be back to Cornwall but I’m afraid not back here as we’re just too unfit!!

Dear Dawn Thank you for your lovely feedback which is much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back to Two Tides Cottage again soon. Best Wishes The Owners Two Tides Cottage Property Owner

  • "Everything about this holiday was perfect from the scorching weather (unfortunately not able to book!"

) to the stunning house, view from patio and the lovely, helpful neighbour. We arrived to a spotlessly clean cottage, hand gel provided in the hallway, and spent that evening just relaxing on the patio overlooking beautiful Looe estuary, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine or several once the kids had gone to bed! The cottage is really well equipped and cosy yet spacious enough to not feel on top of one another. Yes, the hill to the cottage is steep but it helped us work off the extra calories consumed in delicious pasties found in town! The owners were extremely lovely and helpful in their correspondence, providing us with detailed parking information etc. The only downside is the cottage not having a tumble dryer or washer/dryer (has a great washing machine) we were lucky with the weather for drying beach gear - but, it’s not stopped us from re-booking for next year, can’t wait to get back! Thank you!

  • "Lovely cottage with amazing views."

Comfy beds, really good shower. Nice to have a dishwasher and washing machine (with washing line and pegs). Welcome bottle of wine and milk in the fridge were much appreciated, thanks. Just a 5 minute walk down into the centre of Looe. The walk back up the hill/steps is not for the faint- hearted, but at least we were burning off some of the calories from all those pasties. Best lunch in Looe - Cornish feast double decker sandwich from the little sandwich hut in the middle of town (prawns, crab and smoked salmon all on one sandwich).

  • "Excellent location in Looe."

Be mindful of parking - this is explained in the listing and if you have a young family or struggle to get up and down steep inclines. Cottage was excellent; good value for money; view is amazing and facilities were very good. One double bed (smaller front bedroom) was quite small length wise compared to your average, so if you're 6" plus like me best avoid that room. Would happily stay again.

  • "Our holiday was brilliant the only thing I would suggest is mentioning the walk down to the town as the steps-hills are very steep and some people may struggle."

We had two very young children but there was enough of us to help get them up and down safely.

About the location

LOOE

Polperro 5 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
