Lovely holiday home which is well equipped. The photos don’t do it justice. We had a slight maintance problem in which they very quickly resolved even though it was the Christmas period. Definitely recommend.

  • "What a fantastic property finished to a very high standard and felt like a home from home."

We loved sitting on the balcony in the hot tub watching the boats in the harbour and the fantastic selection of restaurants in the area. We will definitely book again our favourite location so far

  • "The cottage itself is decorated to a very high spec- it is stylish and has a luxury feel about it."

A little bit too much maybe as, like other reviewers, we struggled to use some of the appliances. However, the cottage is next door to a social club and it gets very noisy at night. It was impossible to have any of the windows open at night because of this so we had to buy our own fans and keep the windows shut which we weren’t expecting and even then it was noisy. We wanted to stay an extra night to make the most of the weather but we were charged at a higher rate than advertised for that date. When the hot tub didn’t work, the owner offered us an extra night for free which was kind but we were disappointed as this was one reason we chose that cottage. I still haven’t heard back from Customer Services, 2 wks on….

  • "It was amazing!"

Only things were that there wasn’t enough toilet roll and we weren’t left any instructions for what to do with the rubbish, hot tub or Wi-Fi password etc. Also would recommend so advice on how to use the oven as we really struggled working out how to use it. (And we are all fairly well house trained.)

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

Good location on the main street. It’s lovely to have a balcony with views of the harbour. The accommodation is furnished to a really good standard. It is comfortable and we felt at home for the week we were there. I got a telephone call a couple of weeks before the stay. This is a nice personal touch and enabled me to ask for the link bed to be separated. It provided an opportunity to ask any questions/clarify information. We would recommend the accommodation and return if staying in Falmouth. The communication with the owner was good and they assisted me with returning an item I left behind in a quick and really helpful way. Thank you.

The central location was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Lovely host who has clearly put a lot of effort and thought into the property, and it shows. Thank you!

Clean, comfortable and cool house. Would stay again. Would recommend. Only downside - no information pack (for house, hot tub, appliances etc.) or local guidebook.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely book it again in the future."

The place is beautiful and the pictures don’t do it justice. Beds are extremely comfortable and we had all the facilities we needed. As the other reviews suggest, the social club does look over the decking/hot tub area, but that was easily fixed by the privacy curtains that have been put in. We were a bit surprised at the amount of noise that came from the social club, but luckily as we were on holiday this didn’t ruin our time as we were up late anyway. When the club is shut it’s incredibly peaceful in the hot tub and lovely views. The area is also fantastic and we could have happily spent another week or two there to explore more. The only minor issues we had were that upon arrival, the bins were still full with the previous occupants rubbish, and as there is no recycling bins at the property we had to leave it there for the duration of our stay too which was quite off putting. There was also food remains left on the kitchen counters that we had to clean ourselves and hairs around the bathroom, so our only recommendation would be a deeper clean in between guests leaving and arriving. Other than that we loved our stay, the apartment and area and we can’t wait to return!

  • "House is renovated to a high standard facilities superb, however no information about local facilities and despite the attraction of the balcony with hot tub with the view over Falmouth harbour the view below leaves a lot to be desired, with various urinals in a derelict site , also balcony can be viewed by adjacent social club fire escape which is used as a smoking area by its customers who tend to be local snd where later on in the evening the language can be shall we say if an adult nature, also noise from club mainly Fri Sat Sun night is a nuisance so can be the noise from arwnack street at night as late night revellers returning home in the early hours, we where also treated to the sight of 3 drunken youths scaling the scaffolding opposite late one night."

So in summery, if your looking for a fantastic property in the midst of bars and restaurants this is the place for you, however if your looking for something more peaceful perhaps look elsewhere, also could I mention that perhaps a visitors book and local information would be useful

  • "We had a wonderful staycation week at 16 Arwenack Street."

The apartment is well laid out and beautifully decorated, all the bedrooms are a decent size and the bathrooms are great, with hot water all the time. The open place dining/living area is lovely and the kitchen was well equipped. Minor suggestions are a couple more serving dishes and some small bowls for prep/cooking. The whole apartment was very clean and comfortable and its central location is excellent, especially for a multi-generational family stay. Falmouth is a fantastic town, with beautiful beaches nearby.

Accommodation was even better than advertised, rooms spacious , Modern and clean, view was amazing, I will miss waking up every morning to that sunrise over the harbour, everything needed for a comfortable, successful holiday is supplied within the accommodation, the only negative is the parking , trust me I am having to be massively over critical to find a negative re our resent stay here, 10/10 , would definitely go back

The apartment and host were exceptional, I marked comfort as good because the apartment was so warm we had to open windows in order to sleep but the road noise at the front and seagulls at the rear made it difficult to sleep. However ear plugs were provided and we adjusted to the noise. The quality of the facilities, the location more than compensated for it.

  • "The experience of this gorgeous welcoming townhouse was enhanced by the thoughtful hospitality - welcome bubbles, gorgeous cake and cookies, local coffee and milk - the fresh flowers were a joyful touch."

The bedrooms are spacious and tastefully decorated (in fact the whole townhouse is - with art from local artists up on ever spare wall - gave us so much to look at and admire - i will be needing the name of your interior decorator please :)) The kitchen is stocked with every sort of quality cookware, utensil, glassware and serveware you will ever need - great for those evenings when you want to stay indoors for a home cooked meal (which we did and thoroughly enjoyed). It's conveniently located and a step away from all the lovely local shops and places Falmouth has to offer. The only negative experience was when we arrived and needed to unload (before heading to park our car in the parking lot closeby) - the street is (understandably) narrow, and we needed a couple of mins to unload our bags - the sales person in the shop downstairs (Clique Customs) rushed to us immediately and started giving us a hard time by yelling about how they needed to run a business - he seemed perturbed by the fact that we had stopped our car near his shop to offload our bags (engine running, not more than 90 seconds). Not very neighbourly of the store but obviously our breakfast coffees were never bought from there for the 5 days we stayed ..hehe!! This was of course no fault at all of Sykes cottages, but something to bear in mind when you're pulling your car in if you're driving there. That initial hiccup was quickly forgotten as soon as we walked into our wonderful home for the next 5 days, and what a wonderful time we had in Cornwall. A lovely place to come "home" to after our day's activites - that Hot Tub with the most awesome views Falmouth harbour, was part of our daily relaxation ritual!! We'll be back for sure!
