The property

This penthouse apartment in the Cornish maritime town of Falmouth, boasting outstanding views across the bay and is just a short stroll into the town centre.

Foodie lovers will be impressed with the rich array of cafes, bars and restaurants that line the streets of this popular coastal town, its magnificent harbour and port bringing visitors from far and wide to enjoy the finest food from the region.

The Beacon is sited in a prime waterside location on the top floor of the Packet Quays development, accessed via steps and a lift.

Enter from the balcony into a large sunny hallway that offers additional seating and relaxing area to enjoy the magnificent views.

You will be drawn to the wonderful views from the comfortable sitting room furnished with comfortable cream leather sofas arranged around floor to ceiling windows.

There is a dining area to the rear of the room and a separate kitchen, fully equipped to rustle up tasty meals or picnics should you decide to eat in for a change.

All three bedrooms are bright and airy with white linen, two with doors to the balcony and the master with sea views an en-suite shower room.

There is also a separate family bathroom.

The sea facing balcony spans the width of the apartment (children should be supervised) looking out across the water, alive with bobbing and colourful boats that come and go from the harbour and marina.

A walk into the town will bring you to a fine selection of shops, galleries, curio and an array of bars and restaurants offering a multitude of fine cuisine.

From the town you can take a fishing trip or pleasure boat to St Mawes, or leave the car and take a trip up river to the cathedral city of Truro.

The beaches in the area are superb, Gyllyngvase beach with a vibrant beach café is a perfect lunchtime stop where you can enjoy a cool drink, bowl of mussels and lookout over the sea.

For a holiday in or out of season, couples or families, a stay at the Beacon is the perfect base.

Across from Falmouth harbour is the beautiful town of St Mawes, surrounded by the rocky coves, sandy beaches and lush green countryside of the Roseland Peninsula. Go there by car (15 miles) or take the passenger ferry from Falmouth (15 minutes). For nature lovers there is the Swanpool Nature Reserve, a lagoon and site of special scientific interest teeming with a variety of wildlife.
