  • "Fabulous cottage We’ve had a great week at Blackbird cottage, it is well equipped with everything we needed, very clean and cosy with milk in the fridge for our arrival with tea/coffee just what we needed after our long journey."

Set in beautiful grounds which are well maintained, great location for walking the dog and in easy reach of the local beaches too. Definitely wouldn’t hesitate about booking again

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

Perfect location to many gorgeous beaches. The house was cosy and clean. The grounds where the house is are beautiful and well maintained. The house is near the tennis courts with perfect walk ways to take the dog and enjoy cornwall. We loved it here.

  • "This was a lovely house to stay in, very roomy with a bonus downstairs toilet."

The double bed was comfortable and the shower is excellent with lovely big towels. Although it was cold and often raining when we stayed the storage heaters kept us very warm, and the oven and hob are excellent. Our one query regarding the code for the pool was answered very quickly with text messages, in the end we didn't use the pool but we're pleased there was the option. The entire complex is very well maintained and has a good atmosphere. We would certainly stay here again if we were coming to Falmouth.

Really good value for money and an overall lovely week. So close to Maenporth Beach, Swanpool, Gylly Beach, Helford Passage, Falmouth and the Glendurgan National Trust Gardens. So much to see and do. We’ll definitely be back! And the owner is lovely and very responsive

What a lovely tranquil place, the lady in charge of the place was on hand if we needed anything the house was very clean and spacious but to us the none restrictions for our little pooch really nailed it because every other dog friendly place we’ve stayed at had rules where your dogs not allowed to go

Lovely holiday village pleasant surroundings the cottage it self could have been cleaner when we arrived there were no welcome pack and no toilet rolls , however I did tell them and they came next day , tired beds and tired furniture

  • "The owner or overseer of the property was very helpful and friendly."

She messaged us on the day we travelled over and let us know to contact her should we have any problems. As there was no mobile reception at the holiday site, and could not locate the email with the key-safe details, and it was dark, we certainly had to communicate with her and was very helpful. The property was very similar to other Pendra Loweth holiday homes we have stayed at. This one was much better than the last one as it had downstairs toilet and washing machine. The home was very clean and tidy and we liked the wood flooring. The furniture looked nice, however we found it to be very hard to sit on, and not very comfortable. The bedrooms were nice and clean, but again the beds not very comfortable. The beds could have done with memory foam mattress topper to make them softer to lie on. The shower was very nice and powerful, very important - but having shower curtain would help prevent water from spraying over the walls. The internet was good, again very important thing to have. The TV was not that good for us as we are used to using Smart TV at home. Having Smart TV today for Netflix and Amazon is probably important thing to have in holiday cottage. The kitchen was quite small but had everything we needed to cook and clean. The main plus for us is having car charging point on site, which we relied on while there. Overall we would recommend this home.

  • "Blackbird cottage provided us with a perfect base for a lovely week in Cornwall."

The house is equipped with everything you could need, perfectly clean and spacious for a family of 4. The property is part of a wider development of holiday properties which was great for us, with an older child and a newborn in tow, the shared green spaces between the properties were perfect and safe for our eldest to play outside each evening. The property is in a great location, a short drive into Falmouth and lots of lovely local beaches. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • "We had a wonderful time at Blackbird Cottage."

The facilities were excellent. The grounds are very spacious and great for walking the dog. We also enjoyed the farm shop which was a lovely surprise. The only issue we had was that our dog is not reliable at staying where she is told and if we had realised the garden area was open we could have planned for this. It would not put us off staying here again but we might consider how we would manage this.

  • "Cottage was as expected, nice, quaint and cosy and we did have a nice stay, I was largely disappointed with the cleanliness of the place though as it seemed someone had run a hoover round but that was all."

Bedrooms caked in dust and massive cobwebs in between all crevices, not something that would have been missed had a cleaner looked properly. No knock on the owner or property itself, may just be worth investing in a better cleaning team.

My sincere apologies that the cleaning was not up to standard for your stay. I have forwarded your comments to housekeeping who have addressed any shortcomings, as well as arranging a deep clean. We very much value the feedback and hope this would not deter you from staying with us again. Thank you again for your booking. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was comfortable once the storage heaters started working, which was the day after we arrived."

The cottage requires broadband and Wi-Fi as this let the cottage down in general rating, it would have been helpful if there was instruction for the appliances and switches labelled, the same is also true for the Sykes facilities the Wi-Fi was very patchy. With the ending of covid restrictions all paperwork and requirements need to be updated in line with latest requirements.

Thanks for your feedback, particularly on the downstairs heating. We may look to replace these in the future to 'instant' heaters but thanks to your comments, there are now additional stand heaters at the cottage to top up any heating requirements, as well as ensuring housekeeping switch the storage heaters on prior to arrival in colder months. Apologies this was overlooked on your stay. Wi-fi has now also been installed and the listing updated with this information. Thanks for your booking and hope to see you again at Blackbird Cottage.
