“Met on arrival by the very likeable owner, Lisa, who told us all we needed to know.”

The cottage is in an excellent location, easily able to visit north or south coast of Cornwall. Our dog particularly enjoyed the very large, secure field he was able to play in. We enjoyed the peace of the setting and were happy to sit and while away the evening hours on the patio. A lovely spot and I would highly recommend it.

The property

Bodmin 3 miles.

Located equal distance between the north and south coasts of Cornwall this beautifully converted barn is surrounded by glorious countryside with superb far reaching views and is a superb base for walkers, cyclists, dog owners, nature lovers and steam train enthuiasts.

Easily accessed just off the A38, 3 miles from the historic town of Bodmin and 11 miles inland from the wonderful yachting town of Fowey, Annies Cottage is situated on a working farm in a small hamlet where peace and quiet is guaranteed throughout the year.

You approach the cottage down an unmade road passing over a small railway bridge and the delightful halt where steam engines pass through on the Bodmin and Wenford railway.

Just 100 yards further and you will reach the cottage where your eyes will be taken to the stunning unspoilt far reaching countryside views.

You will enter the cottage into the impressive open plan living room with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable dining and sitting areas with a woodburner, most welcoming after a days walking in the cooler months.

From here via the large bifold doors you can access the patio area, a great place to relax at the end of the day.

Dog owners will welcome the 3 acre field available just 2 mins walk away and walkers will be delighted that the footpath leading you to Cardinham Woods runs very close to the cottage.

At the woods which has many miles of off road cyle tracks and walking trails bikes can be hired and a trip here is highly recommended.

With being in such a great central touring location and so much to do and enjoy right from the door a stay at Annies cottage offers a wonderful holiday whatever time of year as there is always so much to enjoy.

About the location

BODMIN

Lostwithiel 6 miles; St. Austell 13 miles; Padstow 16 miles; Newquay 21 miles.

Bodmin, the one-time County Town of Cornwall with its narrow streets, shops and pubs, is perfectly placed for exploring all that this fabulous holiday area has to offer. The outstanding surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles away while on the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail. The popular Camel Trail for cyclists and walkers also winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow. Close by are the open spaces and wind swept grandeur of Bodmin Moor while the incomparable Eden Project (11 miles), Falmouth’s National Maritime Museum (30 miles) and the beautiful harbour town of Padstow with its famous pubs and restaurants (16 miles) make for great days out. Also within easy reach and ideal for a fun-filled day out, guests can visit Lanhydrock House, the small town of Fowey and Charlestown with its Tall Ships, The Eden Project and Lostwithiel. There is a good choice of country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.
