  • "Location Location Location If you want a quiet location for a relaxing holiday this area is the one."

We have been holidaying in this area for nearly 40 years now and keep coming back to this location. Great local walks, quiet beach, safe waters for kids/ grandkids to paddle board and kayaking. Flushing Meadows is a great house with great garden, we have already booked again for next year. Only down point is the bathroom as this needs to be updated and a shower put in if possible

  • "Lovely house and beautiful views some issues with the front door when we got ..."

Lovely house and beautiful views some issues with the front door when we got there it was quite hard to get into the house took us 15 minutes in the dark we used the back door afterwards it was easier access to the garden was quite difficult as we both have minor mobility problems garden is very steep and wet when we were there could do with some handrails main problem was on the first evening which was quite cold we had no heating at all as no logs for the fire were provided it does say in the cottage details that all fuel is provided I know from past experience that does not always mean logs but that should be explained in the cottage summary we couldn’t find any logs for sale locally so couldn’t have a fire for 4 days which really isn’t good enough also there should be information about the location which is really remote and whilst is beautiful cottage is situated on a very narrow steep hill that was a problem for us and anybody with mobility problems

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased that you enjoyed the beautiful views. We have recently replaced the front door including new locks and with the outside light there should be no further issues. We will consider the possibility of adding hand rails in the springtime. Heating is supplied throughout the property with electric storage heaters - as mentioned included in the rent. Although logs are not provided, they can be obtained locally. We will source a supplier and advise accordingly. Property Owner

  • "Fabulous location, lovely garden with great views."

Charming house in need of a little TLC . Coastal path and small shingle beach just two minutes away. Great garden for children and dogs. If you want a quiet place to stay away from the hustle and bustle is perfect .

  • "Absolutely lovely house and garden, location perfect as only metres from the sea so you can hear the waves."

Lovely swim, walks for the dogs and us. Perfect holiday needed two weeks to make the journey worthwhile (traffic bad as expected this year). Took us back to childhood holidays, just what we needed so we booked for next year too. Very small double bed the only downside. Kate the cleaner/housekeeper and Dave the gardner lovely people first class holiday. Thank you!

  • "We had two fabulous weeks in this wonderful home."

A truly beautiful part of Cornwall. The garden is amazing, enclosed for the dogs with views towards the sea. It is very secluded and peaceful, the perfect getaway if you like the quiet life . There are two rugged beaches at the end of the lane, perfect for water sports and rockpooling. Walks from the door, perfect for our four legged friends. The whole family loved it here. If you want crowds, pubs to walk to and night life then don’t come as the nearest pub is a 5-10 minute drive away down windy lanes. The house has one fault in that there is no shower cubicle, just shower over the bath with no curtain. (I noticed one review complained of no towels! But the description definitely tells you there are no towels! So bring your own.) That being said it didn’t detract from a fantastic holiday. The rest of the house is very clean and comfy. The housekeeper Kate was very accommodating when we needed her help. We’ve stayed in this area on many occasions but our first in this property and it definitely won’t be our last and have already booked for next year. Grace/Rhodes family

  • "Great house and location, only negative is the bathroom."

After talking to the housekeeper and garden I understand that the owners will be installing a new shower room during the winter. With this information we have already booked another stay in 2022

  • "Large well equipped house and garden in a beautiful location, short walk down a single track road to a sea inlet with a stony beach and direct access to coastal path in both directions."

Secluded and peaceful, perfect location to get away especially during these difficult times when you don't want to go anywhere with loads of people around. House was clean/tidy, and did display a list of the cleaning done to combat covid. Good base also for exploring Cornwall, be aware that the whole area is single track roads (some of which are more like cart-tracks) but the traffic volume is low so no real problem. We visited in October so the weather wasn't great, but despite the rain both ourselves and our 3 grandchildren really enjoyed it and would be more than happy to come back again.

  • "No towels. House grotty."

    No outside lights.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are disappointed you did not contact us during your stay to discuss any issues you may have had. The outside light has been working so we were surprised by this, we will check it again. The property has never provided towels, this is on the marketing details. We were again surprised by your remark about the house as we have received positive feedback and many returning guests. Property Owner

  • "The setting is fabulous but the house is run down."

The appliances need updating, couldn’t read times on microwave dial for example. Only two usable chairs of the garden furniture, and they were stained and dirty. The caretaker was extremely helpful when the power went off. The house was clean, but felt a bit grubby as really needs decorating. Despite this we had a wonderful time, though we wouldn’t stay in this property again.

About the location

Helston 10 miles ; Helford 1.5 miles ; Porthallow 3 miles

The village of Manaccan on the South Helford is small and friendly, with an excellent restaurant, friendly village inn and a beautiful 12th century church. The South Helford is arguably one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Cornwall. With meandering country roads, picturesque creeks, tidal inlets and pretty waterside villages, the area can be summed up in three words: tranquil, charming and timeless. The perfect spot for enjoying outdoor living, the South Helford’s sheltered coves were made for messing around on the water and strolling leisurely along the banks. Leave your ‘phone behind and embrace the simple pleasures - while away time paddling in the shallows, explore hidden coves with a hire boat from St Anthony, and stroll through woodland to enjoy a picnic on the beach.
