  • "Inside is lovely and spotless."

Kylie is very helpful, re t.v. Although she managed to connect to internet, it was not possible to put in my Netflix, Disney etc, which I pay for. The person prior to me,had written the dinning seat covers needed new. As I have several chronic illnesses and injury ongoing, it is ideal for me to sit on balcony and watch the sea and boats. Sadly as previously the outside furniture is very poor, and still broken with a poor bit of metal, still wobbly arms, and badly stained wood table. I realise you have an ongoing roof problem, needs some expert sealing and under guttering to stop drips. It would be great to see new outside furniture, that you can wipe down to dry. I don't mind sitting in rain a bit,as at home I spend much time bed bound. My son lives on his boat in Mylor harbour, and after work we spend great time together. I booked for next year some while ago for 4 weeks again end season. Love the place, just the bits mended be good. Thanks Sylvia Batho

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad Kylie was able to help with the Wi-Fi, everything was left in good working order, as mentioned prior, the dining chairs have been re-covered. The outside furniture has since been repaired - thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have had work done on the outside cladding on the balcony, which has worked to a certain extent although we still get the odd drip - this is something we are aware of and dealing with. We are happy to hear you love Toby's Quay and look forward to your next visit! Property Owner

Thank you for your feedback. The two sofa's although low, are still reasonably comfortable, and we may look to replace them at some point in the future. The dining chairs have since been recovered and the drip on the kitchen tap, has been fixed. Property Owner

Great position on Falmouth High St and easy to access both of Cornwall's coasts. The apartment is clean and has everything you need. The only small niggle is the sofas are uncomfortable. Really enjoyed our stay at Toby's Quay and didn't want to go home.

Nice to see a safety rail to the property which was missing on my last visit. As for the TV good job that they left instructions. Heating a bit to warm for my liking even though December had windows open nice listening to the waves while in bed. Only downfall sofa's a bit low so struggled to get out of them due to my health.

Nicely redecorated. The sofas need replacing especially the small one. The outside security light wasn't working. The balcony is unusable when it rains or has rained due to the constant dripping water from above. Already booked for next year.

Thank you for your feedback which we have discussed with the owner. The dripping water from above is an ongoing repair for the owner and as yet a suitable resolution has not been found to stop the drips completely, please rest assured he will continue to try and find a permanent fix. We look forward to welcoming you back next year. Property Owner

  • "Although a lovely property and well equipped, in view of the price paid we were slightly surprised that there are a few things that clearly need sorting out."

The tv remote did not work and instructions seemed out of date. The veranda , although lovely , has constant drips from above which makes it virtually unusable and very slippery . Even though we had some sunny , warm and windy weather , it never dried. I guess the problem relates to the property above so could be tricky to resolve. One more thing was the mattress protectors which kept coming off and had a plastic type backing which was very sweaty ! To summarise, a lovely property in a great location but needs some attention to justify the price paid.

  • "The location is fabulous."

The views are fantastic and it is so easy to walk into Falmouth and explore many places nearby. The cottage is well equipped with everything one needs for a great holiday and the cleaning managers are great. The only thing we felt was missing was a dining table height chair, preferably with arms. The reason for this is that the sofas were very comfortable but also very low which was difficult for someone with a bad back or stiff from exploring! We would definitely go back and would recommend it to friends.

It’s well equipped, beds are comfortable and we loved hearing the gentle sound of the waves during the night, we’ve stayed in other properties in Packet Quays before but this is the best one as it’s so close to the water and there’s a panoramic view from the open plan living area as there are several windows. The kitchen is very new and has a high breakfast bar so you can watch the boats go by while eating breakfast. Would highly recommend to anyone.

The location is perfect: beautiful views across the water, quiet yet very close to everything you need: shops, restaurants, the ferries. A couple of plus points - The cleaning team were very helpful - The new double bed is very comfortable A couple of things that could be improved - couldn’t find a comfortable pillow - One of the wall lights in the main bedroom doesn’t work - the bathroom taps/plugs could do with an upgrade

Third holiday here. The balcony roof leaks & drips so you can't sit on the balcony until it's completely dry. The patio furniture needs to be updated as one chair has a broken arm. Both these issues were raised 2 years ago! The window sill in the twin room falls off as not attached. The ensuite shower leaks from the rusted pipe it sprays out in opposite direction. Appreciate new carpet and fresh paint (although you can see where it's been touched up) very clean, ample equipment. Stunning views and location. Just needs added attention to detail. Would still stay there again.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your holiday, it is fantastic location with stunning views. The balcony roof belongs to the bottom of the balcony of the apartment above, the owners do seal the underside of the above balcony annually and are looking into ways it might be possible to reduce any dripping. The patio chair has been repaired, it was just a loose bolt, due to the furniture being moved around. The windowsill in the twin bedroom has been fixed and the shower pipe has been replaced. We do hope to welcome you back to the apartment in the not-too-distant future. Property Owner

It was spacious and clean with nice towels and bedding all great. My one complaint is that on our last evening we had a Track and trace contact telling us to isolate for 10 days and of course we had to drive home, I rang your number but you were closed and dialled the emergency number as I was worried we could have Covid and the cleaners would be coming in the next morning. I left a message and no one called me back. Luckily I had the cleaners number and co tacked her myself to give her a heads up. Bad form on your part I feel

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your time at Tobys Quay. We are sorry that no one came back to you. The double duvet 10.5 tog needs replacing it had yellow stains on. The sofas need replacing as the seats are very saggy to sit on, you end up sitting in a dip, which is not very comfortable. Both shaver points don't work in the bathrooms. The rail on the balcony had paint flacking off underneath which didn't look very nice, one of the arms on the wooden chairs was broken, could do with some seat cushions and a throw for outside. Would have been nice to have had a coffee machine and some champagne flutes. The front door lock needs looking at before it gives up altogether. There was no parking permit when we arrived. The scones/jam/cream, flowers and milk were a lovely gesture and enjoyable! The apartment had everything and more than was expected and very clean. An added bonus was the garage! The only down for us were the steps/incline ( not good for arthritic knees) to get to the main shops/pubs/restaurants, this was not mentioned in the write up, if it were we probably would not have chosen this apartment. 5 minute walk to a small supermarket or 3 minute drive to a large one. We got engaged on the veranda so we will always have fond memories of this place. On the whole I found the flat adequate for us, being the beginning of April it's a quarter of the price of August. If I had to be picky, there isn't enough pantry space for food that doesn't require refrigerating, under the TV is dusty and yes there's still mold (guests should keep extractor fans on for longer) in the bathrooms. One other daunting experience is walking to the front door, there isn't a railing and it's a drop into the bay. We didn't mind this, for it added to the appeal of the holiday and character of the building The flat is comfortable and warm, plus waking up and walking to the living room and seeing the sun shine through the veranda double doors is breath taking. Would I use this place again? YES,

  • "We couldn't fault the view and setting, however the flat was not as clean when we arrived as we would have expected."

It was a disappointment to have to hoover and dust the flat after travelling for almost 8 hours and 400 miles. Also some of the utensils and crockery were very dirty and had food stains and rust on them! We had to clean everything that we needed before we used them, which one should not have to do after spending over £700 for a weeks stay. Some of the utensils were useless; the knives were so blunt they were redundant (we had to purchase are own), the wooden chopping board was broken and had a big split in it, and the weighing scales didn't have a battery so we couldn't use it. The silicone around the bath and shower had black mould starting to grow. Generally speaking, the apartment seemed a bit tired and would benefit from being redecorated throughout. Good location but seriously lacking in attention to detail. Definitely will not be staying in Toby's Quay's again and unfortunately would not recommend it!

Once in, I looked for help in the way of car parking info. I appreciate that 'perching at the counter' is for the young and we who are older focus round a table with lower chairs in our own lifestyle but tried hard not to mind. It would have been so nice to speak to someone so I could have asked about mix-up over our bathroom heating, I emailed and phoned but it was not till the end of the week that it got sorted. A welcome pack which I believe had been a nice idea in the past in this property-read the visitors book- was not welcoming us so guess it was a missed trick. We had been travailing for a month and staying ant many different places since leaving France and luckily had some extra bedding to add to main bedroom. I brought in my husbands wheelchair so he had a higher chair to sit in, and get out of, apart from these 'bits' I guess I should have asked...but who? We did love the place and the one man who spurred me on to 'hurry-up' when loading my husband into the car (under 5 minutes) and collect my brother -also a bit slow- was easily dealt with by my pointing out we did in-fact have a little time left on time- card. I loved the place but was a bit stressed out by not being able to talk to Sykes.
