  • "We absolutely loved our time on the beach, listening to the waves."

Yes it’s a steep climb but well worth it for the closeness to the sea. Bus stop at the top enabled us to explore the area & the local ferries. Jim was really kind & helped us with our luggage with the winch, do pack light though. Would definitely return to this wonderful beachside apartment. A++++

  • "Location of the cottage was lovely."

The owner Jim very helpful and accommodating in getting our luggage down to the cottage due to the steep steps down the cliff. However when we got into the cottage we were greeted with unpleasant smell in the kitchen area which we were unable to find source. The cottage in general was dirty & damp, within seconds of myself & my partner taking our shoes & socks off our feet were covered in sand, not sure the place had been hoovered & mopped before our arrival. The kitchen - there was dirty marks around the edges of kitchen and floor & skirting boards, all surfaces & shelves had not been cleaned, the fridge & freeze have started to rust as well as the inside of the microwave, the oven was dirty & door broken. The bathroom - dirty marks still left on the floor & walls, toilet could do with some TLC as it very loose & a new toilet seat is needed, shower area could do with a good deep clean. The living room - mould spores/marks on the curtains & curtain pole starting rust which is starting to mark the curtains at the top, floor areas again generally dirty. The bedroom - fresh clean bed linen & towels were on the bed, however the curtains had the same marks on as the living room, when getting into bed, the bed felt damp each night. I had to clean and hoover everywhere just so I knew it was clean for our stay. I feel this cottage needs a good deep clean as it not like the pictures currently. Also the parking needs to be explained better before booking, you can only park on the main road and have to complete a 15-20min walk depending on how fit you are back up to your car. Coming down isn’t to bad but going up it is a killer, you have around 160 steep cliff side steps then a very steep hill climb along a small service road to get the main road. Location is breathtaking, and worth the decent, I do take exception to paying the price I paid, and being greeted with something that resembles a squat house. Very misleading with the pictures provided and what you are greeted with.

  • "What a fantastic place to stay."

Property was great. Everything you needed was there, for 2 adults and 2 dogs. We had a fabulous time and weather was great. The owner commented on departure that he had cleaners going in. They need to do a better job, I cleaned the place before I left, because we took 2 dogs,so I moved furniture etc, to hoover this had obviously not been done before our stay ,as snacks we had not taken or eaten were under furniture. Also top of kitchen shelves dusty, but apart from this fabulous.

Jo the host was very welcoming and on hand if you had any issues or concerns. The accommodation is very comfortable but what makes this accommodation really stand out is the location. You could not get nearer to the sea if you tried. We will certainly be back as it ticked every box for what we like for a location. Beautiful beach, scenery and plenty of lovely walks with our dog. I would be very surprised if anyone was disappointed with staying at this accommodation.

Perfect for two active dogs, open your front door and your on the beach. The cottage had everything you need for a relaxing week, perfectly clean with all appliances required. One of our dogs was born blind this did not phase him walking up and down the cliff. There are lots of steps and short walk to reach the top of the hill if your reasonably fit then this cottage is a must, I was able to take brief rest walking up why wouldn’t you turn around and the amazing views just continue. Jim kindly helped us take our large dog crate up the hill using his winch thank you Jim much appreciated. Husband spent possibly the first day reading Jim’s incredible book…. I will say no more it’s a must read husband was so impressed he asked for a selfie with Jim!! We didn’t need anything during our stay however I don’t doubt Jim Nini would do anything to make our stay more comfortable it was more than comfortable Just a tip bring a torch if you arrive later in the evening after a day of enjoying the beautiful views of Cornwall . A beautiful cottage right on the beach. A perfect getaway for a couple and dogs. The cottage was clean, well equipped and beautifully situated. Jim was on hand when we arrived and helped us with our luggage on the winch. We would recommend packing lightly! We definitely had too many clothes with us. If you prepare well you really don’t need to venture away from the cottage/beach. It took about 10 minutes to walk down the steep steps and a little longer going back up. We will definitely be booking again. Lovely walks, good weather (mostly) and in our opinion best property on the cliff.

The pictures just can't do it justice. Nothing to be heard but the sound of the waves from every room. Wandering down to the beach barefoot having sipped coffee on the patio is a delight. The steps up the cliff are steep but can be raced up (by my husband) or taken at a more leisurely pace (by me with our elderly dogs). Can't wait to return.

The cottage however could do with a little tlc. We could only open one of the windows in the property. The photos must be old ones as the outside does not represent the pictures on your website. The decked area adjacent to the cottage resembled a builders yard with timber and scaffold poles around it. The decking hand rail needs attention. There was a broken plastic shed in pieces on the ricks bedside the decked area. However the bed was fantastic.

Being able to take your dog with a cuppa on the beach, tide permitting, in the morning before it gets busy was priceless. Not so good bits - there is no allocation parking. The steps are steep and hard work so my advice is take everything you need for the week so you don't have to climb them too often. There has been some storm damage outside of the property so the view to the side is not great.. lots of rubbish and broken sheds etc. The oven was in desperate need of a good clean and so was the towel rail in the bathroom.. It was very rusty and not in a usable condition at all. Overall great location but beachcombers could be so much better given a bit more tlc.

The beach is stunning and quiet for taking wonderful walks with miles of sandy shores and the sunsets and unpolluted night skies are stunning. The accommodation is cosy and equipped with all you need. There is a very steep climb down to the accommodation so you need to be reasonably fit but the views are beautiful. When the tide is high it laps against the walls of the Beachcomber’s so make sure you don’t get caught out by the high tides whilst walking. The most wonderful place to stay to just kick back and relax. Would highly recommend!

Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.
