Torpoint Cottages
Just across the estuary from Plymouth, our Torpoint cottages are
ideal for touring south Cornwall and Devon. Steeped in nautical
history, Torpoint has a busy yacht harbour and is home to the Royal
Navy's main training centre.
Explore the Rame Peninsula from your Torpoint cottage
Torpoint is located on the Rame Peninsula, a designated AONB
offering picture-postcard villages, secluded beaches, historic
attractions, superb walking and water sports, all within close
proximity of your Torpoint cottage.
Explore the woodland and riverside trails of Antony House &
Garden, edged with beautiful rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias and
camellias. Hunt for modern sculptures in the stunning grounds. Step
inside the mansion and view the Carew Family's impressive
collection of art, furniture and textiles.
Or soak up the views over Plymouth Sound from Mount Edgcumbe
Country Park, featuring formal gardens and rare, ancient trees. You
can also visit the restored Tudor house in summer, adorned with
exquisite family possessions.
Within the boundaries of this sprawling park are the twin
villages of Kingsand and
Cawsand, synonymous with smuggling and
home to pastel-painted fishermen's cottages. Both offer small,
sheltered beaches, as well as fantastic opportunities for
windsurfing, sailing and diving. Go from one to the other along the
South West Coastal Path, then along to Whitsand Bay, where you'll
find five miles of dazzling, golden sands - a popular haunt with
surfers and great for family days out.
And when you fancy a night on the town or a shopping expedition,
simply swap the countryside for the city and hop aboard the ferry
to Plymouth.
You can take your pick on a Torpoint cottage holiday!
