    “Beautiful view as advertised.”

    Sweet little chalet and area Beautiful but was not told there was a busy road right outside the veranda which was noisey and ruined what we thought was a peaceful break. Constant cars,caravans and double decker buses!! Interrupting the noise of the sea!!!

Constant cars,caravans and double decker buses!! Interrupting the noise of the sea!!! Also clean but no way clean enough for COVID standards. Very dusty and hair in plug hole. Nothing bleached!! Very very dissapointed!! Booked for quiet special birthday break and was ruined!!!

We’ve spoken to the owners who dispute your statement on cleanliness and feel these comments are unfair and unjustified. Their cleaner attended the property and spent many hours preparing the property for your arrival in the usual way using only environmentally friendly anti-bacterial products throughout, other than in the toilet or plug holes when bleach is used. The road is not a busy road and the bus passes twice daily. The owner and housekeeper take their letting of Marpen very seriously and they pride themselves on giving good holiday experiences – this is reflected in the feedback we have received and we have every confidence this will continue to be the case moving forward. - Sykes owner relations

The property

Marpen is a detached, single-storey chalet perched high above the cliff road in Freathy on Whitsand Bay, with superb panoramic views out to sea and along the coast.

It faces south-west for all-day sun and spectacular sunsets.

A fantastic romantic place for couples or small family.

It has been smartly refurbished and neatly laid-out to make the most of the 180 degree seascape; binoculars provided.

The open-plan living-dining room and kitchen area is dominated by that amazing view.

Step through the big glazed bi-folding doors on to the terrace and enjoy the full impact of the vista.

There is garden furniture and a BBQ for those al fresco meals.

Two neat bedrooms – a king-size double and a twin that zip-links to a king-size bed, plus a truckle bed.

Compact family bathroom.

Enclosed garden with seaward-facing paved terrace (gated), outdoor shower and small lawned areas front and back.

Utility shed with storage for surfboards etc.

Freathy's playing field and tennis court, 1 minute walk.

The glorious, huge sandy beach, about 350 yards, reached by a steep coast path.

A sensational spot any time of year.

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.
