  • "This was our second stay at Moor View Chapel and once again we had a wonderful stay with our two Norfolk terriers."

The chapel has everything you could need, warm and cosy in a perfect peaceful location. Many places within easy reach to explore, if looking for dog friendly pub for a meal the Masons Arms in Camelford is highly recommended. You will not be disappointed in having a stay at Moor View and sure we will be back once more. Thank you to our host for the welcome gifts.

The chapel has been converted to a very high standard and the cleanliness was really good. The owners were really friendly and helpful and we really appreciate their kindness when we arrived after a long drive to Cornwall. The area is so peaceful- apart from the loud Cockerel who lives nearby. However the owners have devised some really good insulation which we used on the second night. After that it was fine. The area is beautiful and we would highly recommend the chapel. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We will definitely return.

  • "Such a unique property - we felt like we were on holiday straight away."

When ‘takes 2 dogs’ and ‘sort by lowest price first’ are your most important search criteria you don’t expect to find something so characterful, quaint and scenic. The owners have renovated the chapel so beautifully and it made our stay really comfortable. It’s very well equipped - the owners genuinely want their guests to have a great stay. The field was perfect for exercising the dogs in an enclosed space, and we enjoyed some gorgeous walks from the chapel into the surrounding countryside along a river and through fields. There are no supermarkets close by but it’s just a short drive to the nearest Co-op. We personally liked the remote and peaceful location, and proximity to the Moors and beaches (Trebarwith Strand, Bossiney Cove 20 min drive away), a brilliant pub just 10 min drive away over the Moor in St Breward, and a fantastic chippy in Camelford.

We really work hard to achieve the best for our guests - after all you pay good money for a lovely break from normal life ! It’s difficult keeping prices down but we do our best and love meeting our visitors - and are constantly trying to improve ! Thank you and enjoy the rest of your time In Cornwall ! Property Owner

Weather was a challenge, but there is so much to do around there it doesn’t matter, and besides I’m not a fan of the hot weather. There is an enthusiastic cockerel next door, but they have provided an ingenious solution to manage the sounds, and honestly enhances the whole experience. Extremely gracious hosts with scones provided on arrival. Highly recommended.

  • "Although this is quite a remote location, it was just what we needed."

We’d not been to Cornwall as a couple with dogs before as we tended to favour Abersoch, how happy were we that we’d taken a gamble. There was nothing that Pete and Charlotte had not given thought too, a tide times leaflet, first aid kit, ready made ice, all ticked boxes with us. The chapel was immaculate and we even said we could move in permanently, it was that ideal. Pete was so helpful and suggested a short drive to the moor for ideal dog walking as there was a stream to cool the dogs off. The nearest beach was 20 minutes away, unfortunately we chose the wrong time and day but agreed would be ideal if better planned. We support a bulldog charity “The Edward Foundation” and have already recommended Moorview Chapel as an ideal, multiple dog friendly, holiday let that exceeds expectations.

Ah the infamous beach tide times ! Our Local beach does loose it’s sand at high tide sadly …. However plenty of long beaches at bude if the times do not work locally . So glad you had a good holiday Property Owner

Can,t fault the property ( or the lovely owners) in any way. Only problem we have coming from Kent is the nightmare journey (nearly 8 hours for 270 miles!) but once at Moor View Chapel all this is forgotten. We take our 3 large dogs with us which is why we initially booked this property. The choice of properties accepting 3 dogs is extremely limited so finding such a lovely property that also welcomes our 'pack' is the icing on the cake! Best place to visit is Port Isaac which is magical - take the road/path past Doc Martin's house to the hill overlooking Port Isaac for some great views. Follow this with a drink at the pub in the harbour to take in the atmosphere of this beautiful village. Port Gaverne nearby (walk from Port Isaac as very little parking) is also lovely. Port Quin (park at National Trust car park and walk along coastal path to Droyden Castle - fantastic!) and Boscastle also worth visiting. Eden project good but expensive - not ideal for most kids or those who don,t like walking far!

The only downside was that Sykes gave us the wrong key code for the key box. This meant we had to phone the owners late at night (who were very helpful). We would definitely recommend a stay here.

  • "We had a lovely stay here."

Everything we needed was supplied. Even milk, tea and coffee and a lovely cake. A bottle of wine which we didn't use as we don't drink alcohol but what a lovely gesture and also a box of chocolates for our wedding anniversary. It was so peaceful and my 2 dogs enjoyed their daily dip in the stream opposite. We used it as a base to explore Devon and Cornwall. I would highly recommend it for a couple or a family with small children and dogs. It's amazing how a chapel has been transformed into a fully equipped cottage with a lovely courtyard to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Thank you to Charlotte and Pete for your hospitality.

The property

This beautifully converted chapel nestles amongst the peaceful Cornish countryside, uniquely situated between the idyllic Bodmin Moor and the popular North Cornwall beaches, the most locally being Trebarwith Strand near Tintagel, dog friendly with rock pools for the younger children and surf for the more adventurous.

Enjoying a tranquil rural location and stunning modern decor, use Moor View Chapel as the relaxing base for that much-needed break away.

Step into the rustic utility room, touched with charming exposed stonework, use this layout to take off your muddy boots and coats, or even store your bikes and surf boards.

Here you will also find the washing machine should you need it.

Moor View Chapel is also situated on the National Cycle Network which connects to the Camel Trail, a picturesque off road, virtually level trail that leads, (via several pubs and cafes!), to the popular fishing port of Padstow.

Upon entering the main accommodation, the stunning oak staircase leads to the living area, thoughtfully sitting on the first floor of the property, allowing you to make the most of the splendid countryside views on offer.

This open-plan setup boasts a bright and airy feel, well-equipped with wonderful furnishings, including reclining sofas and an enticing wood burning stove for those chillier evenings, complimented by the free WiFi, Smart TV and Netflix.

The exposed beams help to bring a real sense of charm.

The two bedrooms sit on the ground floor, a king-size and a bunk room are fabulously furnished and provide the perfect accommodation for a family of four.

The beautifully tiled family bathroom is a wonderful spot to lie and soak in a soothing bubble bath with overhead shower.

To fully appreciate this calming countryside location, enjoy your morning coffee in the shingled courtyard (no graveyard!) and simply take it all in.

Moor View Chapel also has its own one-acre paddock and stream, part of which is shared by the chapel's resident ponies.

The entire location around Moor View Chapel is a walker's paradise.

From Moor View Chapel, the breath-taking Roughtor, on Bodmin Moor, is just two miles away, well worth the trip as the views from the top are nothing short of spectacular, rewarding you with views of both the north and south coast on a clear day.

Bodmin Moor has been awarded 'International Dark Sky Landscape' status, recognising its stunning night skies and minimal light pollution.

Also nearby is Crowdy Reservoir, (where you can see the amazing rare phenomenon of 'Starling Murmuration' in the Autumn months), the South West Coastal Path, Lanhydrock and the Saint's Way, to name but a few, all with magnificent views to be admired.

The welcoming old market town of Camelford is just three miles away, providing a selection of amenities to make for a delightful holiday base.

Some of Cornwall's most popular attractions are within easy reach, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Padstow are amongst the most notable and all promise an unforgettable visit.

Other attractions include Boscastle, infamous for its devasting flood of 2004, The Eden Project, and Bude, where you will find the canal with one of the only two working sea locks in Britain.

For a holiday of scenery, peace and quiet, bring your loved ones along to Moor View Chapel.
