All facilities were good. Nice place to stay. One thing would be ideal is that the hot tub area and out door seating area could be screened off from the owners area as it feels you are being watched at all times. Reviewed by PaulJul 2022 "Lovely place to stay." Has everything you need for a weeks holiday we cooked most nights without being short of anything. My understanding was that the communal area of sauna and gym were only 9 am-9pm but unfortunately this includes the use of the hot tub, this did impact on our holiday as we had to be out of the hot tub by 9pm. Leaving only the option of then getting dressed again to go to the local pub or watch TV. Neither are my usual choices. The bed for us was too firm and I know this is a personal choice but in future any review that mentions a firm bed I won’t book. The owners are very nice plenty of parking and things to do in the local area. Reviewed by DeniseJul 2022 "Lovely quiet location." Great hosts. Thanks pleasant & quiet location. Well placed for access to the wider area. Enjoyed. Reviewed by AndrewAug 2020 "From the moment we arrived we were told to finish using the hot tub as early as possible on friday as it takes the owner a long time to clean it." Also on that first meeting the owner stated he noticed my partners gammey leg !! How rude as my partner has arthritis in his hip and is in constant pain !! The shower constantly went cold and upon reading the manuel with the property it states short showers only !! The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. Music is also banned from being played outside but the owner spent most days mowing his garden creating alot of noise. To be honest we spent the whole holiday feeling like we were being watched. I have holidayed with sykes before in a cottage and loved my time ... this time i didnt. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. The owners are doing their utmost to keep the property and facilities up to scratch during the current Covid-19 climate. It takes 24 hours, to clean refill and heat the hot tub, ready for the next guests. So this information is provided at the start of the holiday so guests can plan accordingly. We have discussed the incident you mention with the owner: he noticed your partner was having trouble negotiating the four steps up to the hot tub. He was keen to draw attention to the step: acting quickly out of concern for his wellbeing and did not intend to cause any offence. The shower is an electric shower and all manufacturers state, maximum usage of 15 minutes and rest for 45 minutes. This has been noted but not previously caused an issue. Beds are of course to everyone’s individual taste and it would be impossible to supply a different mattress to suit everyone’s particular requirements. With this in mind, the one in situ is of good quality and labelled ‘medium’. The grass is cut twice a week (when possible) and takes approximately one hour. This has to be done with the weather in favour but is almost always completed when guests are out. The gardens are extensive and need regular upkeep. Belmont is not overlooked in any way, by anyone. It is completely private and guests are only welcomed in. Other than that they are free to come & go without being bothered or observed. We had everything we needed, it was beautifully decorated, the hot tub was lovely and it’s in a good location for reaching other parts of Cornwall as it’s not far from the A30. The only downside was the mattress as it was too hard for us - everything else spot on! Reviewed by KayleighJul 2020 Show more This property is part of the Cornish Cottage Holidays collection.
