  • "Overall what a lovely cottage, fantastic location in a beautiful village."

Throughly recommended. My only slight issues was the wall heaters, they were did not seem to always work and on a couple of nights we did find it a bit cold. This is a very minor point as the rest of the accommodation was perfect. I definitely recommend St Agnes it a wonderful village and the Avalon is a fantastic place to stay.

Hi , the electric radiators are powerful enough to heat the property . I communicate with all guests and encourage them to contact me , I can switch radiators on remotely if they get accidentally switched off . Thanks Angie Property Owner

  • "This was a nice property in a good location, we enjoyed being able to walk to the pub/village/beach/ bakery."

It was clean and well equipped, the beds were very comfortable. The garden was secure for the dogs which was great and a bonus having the hose pipe to wash off muddy dogs/footwear. Having a washing machine was helpful and having two bathrooms ideal, plenty if hot water. My only comment would be the electric heaters did not always come on exactly when we wanted them to and at times it was chilly. My elderly parents were at the property more whilst we were out walking and they were cold at times.

In an ideal position for dog walks straight from the house. The only negative is that there is no storage in the kitchen for storing food

  • "Property cleanliness was highlighted with the owner, for witch they were apologetic and said they would take action to mitigate."

The property we think should have a freezer especially if a family is on a tight holiday budget. The kitchen is small and would struggle to cater for 6 people. Location is great and plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance.

  • "We really enjoyed our 2week stay at Avalon cottage st Agnes."

The cottage is in a fantastic location with plenty of picturesque walks for the dogs and the walk down to the beach was also good and not to far. Couldn’t fault the equipment in the cottage more utensils than I have at home, bed was comfy and showers were very powerful. I would say the bushes in the garden do need cutting back but I know this is difficult when you have guests, and perhaps two doormats inside by the front door and back door, these comments are not a negative but meant to be helpful. We would absolutely love to return to this cottage and the lovely area. Thankyou Col and Anne

  • "The house was lovely and made us feel at home."

There were a few things that could improve the stay. Blinds on windows as the front window is very big and open and people kept looking in when walking past. Little touches such as a washing up bowl, a couple of dishwasher tablets and maybe a welcome pack would be nice. I did have to wash the extractor fan vents as oil was dripping off them and made a bit of a smell but this wasn’t a problem. Overall we did really love the house! Perfect location and owners were friendly as they let us check in slightly earlier which was very good. We would stay again!!

  • "Fabulous stay at Avalon."

Clean and comfortable and also in a great location. St Agnes is a lovely village to stay. Only fault there were no cleaning products ie cleaning spray, bin liners, j clothes and dish washers tablets which we had to purchase as we like to keep the properties we stay clean. Also it would have been nice for tea bag, milk in the property after a long drive. But overall we love Avalon. Thanks again for a great holiday stay.

The cottage is extremely well organised and equipped. Wifi and TV work perfectly. The situation in St. Agnes, tucked away just off the main drag in a quiet back lane but within easy reach of all the village has to offer, is perfect. Five stars all round.

Spotlessly clean, everything there to make it home from home. Garden was perfect for our dog very secure. Location could not be better, bang in the centre of one of the most beautiful villages in Cornwall. Would love to return again.

  • "All in all a good property, just a couple of snags."

There was black mould in the en-suite shower. The light in the en-suite shower started to flicker towards the end of our stay. The electric radiator system was incomprehensible, the settings couldn’t be changed easily. Having a blue light indicator on the radiator constantly on in bedrooms is not great for sleep hygiene. (turned the thing off in the end over night) Perhaps a tip for all dog owners would be that it is completely open plan downstairs so as it was stipulated (quite rightly) no dogs on the furniture, providing another stair gate for the kitchen or mentioning that dog owners bring a crate would be useful. We had brought one so we were ok.

Good sized and well equipped accommodation in an excellent location. The en suite to the master bedroom is particularly useful for a family and having private parking in the centre of St Agnes is a bonus too. Pubs just round the corner and a short walk to the beach makes this a great base.

  • "House was beautifully clean and was a real bonus to have off road parking in the village."

Thank you Angie for contacting us before our visit to provide additional instructions on how to find Avalon and the other handy hints. Much appreciated. Weather restricted visiting many places and we found a number of places we aimed to visit were closed. However would certainly recommend Avalon and St Agnes Would also recommend:- > if you have a car with low profile wheels that as you face the property you park to the left, and be aware that navigating the car off the property can be a little difficulte especially if the holiday cottage opposite has car/s parked. But as mentioned above the off road parking is a real bonus > Highly recommend a visit to the Petersville Inn for a meal. Excellent food & friendly service and not to be missed the Wheal Coates Mine, views were stunning. > Avoid Tingatel it was heaving, with little regard for social distancing and if you want to visit the Castle be sure to prebook well in advance. > Padstow worth a visit, but again recommend you aim to get there for about 9.30 to try and snag a parking space near the quay, again can get very busy and with the narrow streets, social distancing is difficult.

It might also be helpful to point out that Water Lane itself is fairly narrow and that the stream runs in quite a deep gully to the left hand side of the lane as you turn into the lane.

Everything we needed was there. At the end of each long day outdoors it was the perfect base to return to, to recharge our batteries, and get a good night’s sleep on the comfy mattresses. The store was a bonus with plenty of secure space for 4 bicycles and wetsuits. Lovely cottage and a great location. At the top of the hill down to Trevaunance Cove and close to the centre of the village, it’s convenient for both local activities and day trips further afield.
