  • "The cottage is in a great location and we loved St Agnes."

The cottage is mostly as described, but a few things disappointed. The small ‘courtyard’ is basically the side access and is not big enough to store a bike as described and is just a concrete stepped path that my dog wouldn't even wee in. A previous review mentions the sofa being broken. This is still the case and i dont buy the ‘vintage’ furniture response as it is a modern sofa with the arms loose. The single bedroom was fine and comfortable. The double bedroom got extremely warm overnight, i think due to the boiler or hot water tank being in the eaves. The mattress on the double bed was very uncomfortable. The kitchen does smell damp and everything in the cupboards had to be washed before use as it smelled musty. The kitchen is well equipped though, but a microwave would help. There are still no markings on the oven to show temperature despite a response to a previous review saying it would be fixed.

Not able to use cooker as no idea what switch did what Lack of cooking utensils Found slugs in kitchen sink & bathroom floor Shower was very poor needs updating Really missed sitting in garden for a morning cuppa First night of arrival there was a fight outside our door in the street local teenagers But we really enjoyed the village would love to return but not at Sweet pea cottage nice for a long weekend but not for a week

Thank you for your feedback. I do apologize but our cleaners were too vigorous in cleaning the cooker and removed the instructions. We are in the process of replacing them. I was sorry to hear about the slugs in the property, we were unaware of the property having issues with slugs and I am having my cleaning company investigate this matter. Just to make you aware you are able to call myself or Sykes Cottages at any time regarding any issues you may have with Sweet Pea Cottage. Property Owner

  • "We had a great time."

We were close to the beach and other locations along the north coast and were lucky with the weather. A stair gate might be useful.

  • "The cottage is charming and cosy."

Unfortunately the smell of damp and mildew on entering the cottage is overwhelming. We were due to stay Saturday to Saturday but left early on Wednesday. There are not enough armchairs to sit in. One is so low to the ground you cannot get up from it. The sofa is so old the arms are loose. There is a director’s chair but you cannot sit in it as the back is broken. The kitchen was perfect and had everything you need. The bedrooms were fine but the mattress in the spare room was uncomfortable.

Dear Mrs Moylan Thank you for the feed back on your recent stay in Sweet Pea Cottage. Damp and mildew have never been an issue for the cottage but we will look into this. The seating arrangement is shown on the website and the house is described as a quirky cottage with vintage furniture. The sofa and second bedroom mattress are only one year old. Had you raised these problems with the Agent or the Housekeeper on arrival and or during your stay we would have taken immediate steps to rectify them. Please accept our apologies. Property Owner

  • "A lovely cottage in the heart of the village and close to all local facilities, pubs, shops and restaurants are all close at hand and the beach is a nice walk away."

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The lack of a garden wont suit everyone put the park is literally on the door step for that early morning or late night dog walk. St Agnes is a lovely village and the walks along the coastal path offer spectacular views. The local beaches are fabulous for swimming, surfing and kayaking and are all RNLI manned in the summer months so very safe. Highly recommend a visit to St Agnes and you will be very comfortable staying at Sweetpea Cottage.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Sweetpea this week."

We travelled as a family of 3 and spent four nights in the cottage. It was really homely and well appointed, and our 2 1/2 year old fondly referred to it as our “holiday home”! The location was ideal too - central St Agnes, a few steps away from the local shops, restaurants and best pizzeria in Cornwall! Also within walking distance (as a family) of the local stony beach, and a 20 minute drive from large sandy beaches. The public car park, also within a few paces of the cottage, is free and we were always able to find a space. All in all, our stay at Sweetpea was exactly what we wanted, and we’d heartily recommend it to anyone considering making the trip.
