It was much more spacious than we expected and decorated well. There are a couple of things that would be useful to have on the property, and if we were staying again we'd bring them ourselves to make sure our stay was even more pleasant: Bathroom hand towel, Oven/cooking tongs, Oven gloves, Bread knife and a chopping knife (anything bigger than the small one available). St Agnes is lovely and has everything you need on your doorstep and within walking distance. We did find that the Velux in the bathroom doesn’t work, the sofa is a bit old and worn and there was a smell of someone's dog in the downstairs of the cottage but for the price, location and everything else you get with The Ope it's well worth it and we'd love to return!

The property

Nestled in the heart of St. Agnes, with a traditional, Cornish atmosphere, enveloped by the natural beauty of the heritage coast, is The Ope.

This beautiful, end-terrace cottage boasts an idyllic location for exploring the beaches, craft shops and stunning walking country of the area with your other half.

Step inside and discover the cosy living room, which has been thoughtfully put together with a plush sofa and armchair crowded around the woodburning stove.

Get cosy in front of the TV with your loved one and let the fire blaze on a cold winter's night, keeping you toasty and warm.

Find the compact yet well-equipped kitchen upstairs on the first floor, with Velux windows streaming in plenty of natural light, opening up the space.

Rustle up a romantic dinner for your partner and dine together downstairs at the lovely dining table, or take your meal out onto the terrace on a warm summer's evening and absorb the coastal ambiance.

The beautiful king-size double bedroom welcomes you with vintage-style furniture, wood floors, a stunning vaulted ceiling and a wall-mounted TV, so you can unwind before catching some rest.

Next door, the shower room occupies a large walk-in shower with modern fixtures, a heated towel rail and exposed stonework adding character.

Wake up each morning and get ready in style before heading out and exploring the local sights, then return to enjoy a refreshing glass of wine out on the tiered patio.

There is even a shed for you to stow away your surf boards or bikes and a washing machine is housed in another outbuilding.

Head out and discover the four sandy beaches close by; Trevaunance Cove, Chapel Porth, Trevellas Porth and Porthtowan, each unique and full of rock pools, popular with families and surfers.

Enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the South West Coast Path and take long, bracing walks or strolls to glimpse a plethora of wildlife and fascinating heritage.

Newquay is easily accessed by car, as is the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Make some wonderful memories at this fabulous, coastal getaway.
