  • "This is a fabulous little cottage we stayed in November so were the only guests there, which just made it more perfect."

The hot tub is AMAZING and we are now looking at getting one. The cottage is clean and excatly as pictured, if I was being picky I would say the bed isnt very comfy and the quilt is very thin for a winter stay, also the TV could do with updating, but that is the only thing I could find to improve. The owners, though we didnt meet, were brilliant, at the end of the phone and sorted the 2 very small issues we had immediately. Love this place and would highly recommend it to everyone it's in a great location for seeing the beauty of Cornwall. Winter is a great time to go it's so quiet and no queues at all ! Thank you for a well needed relaxing week.

  • "Fantastic Holiday."

The 3 beaches we visited were amazing, however, you need to be prepared to walk quite some distance!!. Will definately be back when we can make it. Hosts were loveley.

  • "Owls Roost is a lovely, cute cottage on a farm surrounded by lovely countryside and views."

There are plenty of walks, close to beaches and near to a pub, be prepared for some quite steep hills to get anywhere but it is worth it. The cottage was comfortable, tidy and clean, cooking equipment was a bit lacking but we got by. The owners are lovely, friendly and very helpful, they came and checked on us after we had arrived and were available for anything we needed. We didn't use the swim spa but it looked lovely - we just didn't want to leave our dogs in the yard in case they barked and annoyed other people. We would definitely go back and will be recommending to family and friends.

About the location

Mevagissey 3 miles.

Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach set behind a traditional sea wall, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide and is popular with families. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is readily accessible from the South West Coast Path that passes through Gorran Haven. Within walking distance are a number of more isolated beaches and the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck. From its gorse-covered heights there are views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east. Alternatively, you may wish to walk the coastal path to the harbour village of Mevagissey. Near Gorran Haven, in a beautiful setting of woodland, stream and pasture, is Caerhays Castle, an informal 60-acre garden on the coast near Porthluney Cove. Nearby attractions are the wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and the cathedral town of Truro, with an excellent range of quality shopping and dining.
