  • "Lovely cottage with everything you could need for a relaxing break away, cream tea on arrival was delicious."

Peaceful setting and not too far away from everything, lovely to come back to the hot tub or the log burner after a few hours out. Thank you for your hospitality, would highly recommend.

  • "This is was our third time at the property."

Once again it was a fantastic experience. Well stocked, immaculately clean, peaceful. Home away from home. Including the visit from the cats. The owner is lovely, very friendly and helpful. Just booked again for next year.

  • "You need a place to air damp towels in Summer months if the weather is not so good outside and they do not dry inside without a heated towel rail."

    Mr VangroveSep 2021

  • "Lovely cottage with lots of lovely extras."

Cream tea, water bottle in fridge, 2 lots of fresh flowers, toiletries, milk, tissues etc. Lovely owners as well. The garden was superb. So pretty, totally private and views to die for. Perfect location as well. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

  • "My wife and I have been visiting Cornwall for over 50 years and Swallow Barn is without question the best self-catering facility that we have visited in all that time."

  • "The whole thing was wonderful thank you"

    Mr WithcombeOct 2020

  • "Beautiful, well equipped, home from home."

All amenities, utensils and more thought of, catered and supplied. Bed very comfortable, kitchen fully equipped, lounge/dining area fully functioning. Our only negatives are..... 1. sofa very small for a 6ft hubby and me to share so a small corner sofa would work much better, 2. move the lounge dining area to a corner as in front of a working radiator with the cold weather was very uncomfortable. 3. Finally, two eating areas not needed so remove the tiny bistro in kitchen and put worktop/cupboard station for storing our own food. We sadly did not get to use the hot top, but it looked wonderful and the gardens are stunning. We would definitely rebook this beautiful holiday home again when we return to this area.

The property

This light, airy and very stylish semi-detached cottage, converted from a courtyard of handsome Victorian barns, sits quietly tucked away 2 miles from the little village of St Kew, and a short hop from the famous fishing village of Port Isaac.

This stylish cottage, perfect for couples, is all on one level and you can star gaze or drink in the countryside views from the privately positioned Japanese-style, wood-fired hot tub for two (available at extra charge, fuel provided) located in the back garden.

Relax in the big, light and airy sitting room with wood burning stove and dining area, filled with light from a large skylight in the lofty ceiling.

There's a well-equipped kitchen for preparing tasty meals for enjoyment indoors or alfresco in the neat back garden with that wonderful hot tub and a very swish awning.

One double bedroom with pretty views and a bathroom complete the interior accommodation, whilst outside is the lovely south-facing, shrub and flower-filled garden.

Enjoy a freshly-prepared meal in the good food pub in the local village or head for Port Isaac just a short drive away, where you'll find many splendid cafes and restaurants.

A good all-year-round place for couples to relax or to tour the area's many fine surfing beaches, harbours and hidden coves.

Not far from Port Isaac, St Kew is a small village – the first recorded in Cornwall! - on the north Cornish coast. The village church dates from the fifteenth century and is home to some remarkable stained glass windows. Also in St Kew is a traditional village pub and a golf course, and there is a donkey sanctuary at St Kew Highway. The St Kew Inn also dates from the fifteenth century, and boasts a lovely open fire in winter and a pretty beer garden for sunshine drinks in the summer. There are some lovely walks in the countryside surrounding St Kew, including a circular route through the river valleys.
