"You really have a fantastic family owned holiday cottage."
Everything was spot on and the personal touches made our stay very special, just the break we needed after a difficult few years. We have been coming to Polzeath for 59 years you can never get fed up of the view over Pentire and Newlands especially in your breakfast room. Spot on we will be back. Mark, Andrea, Ron & Sharon.

"No significant issues, however, the outside facilities need some updating."
Metal chairs rusty and some broken. BBQ needs upgrading, on the small side for catering for 6 people. Single bed mattresses need replacing, v uncomfortable. Lastly there was not the usual info pack for the house ie bin emptying days etc. These few issues aside we would book Curlew again and recommend to others

"Absolutely loved our stay in this cottage."
Perfect distance from the beach (5 minute walk), beautiful views and large lawn for our dog to enjoy. The outside shower was so handy after surfing and the fact the property provided lots of bathroom towels was a plus with 3 kids. Kitchen was clean and easy to use as was the barbecue. We will definitely book this cottage again in the future.

The property
This contemporary, dormer bungalow sits overlooking the spectacular Polzeath Beach on the Cornish North coast.
Presented to an excellent standard with glorious, panoramic views, Curlew provides a superb base for up to seven guests and their canine companions.
After a day on the day, wash away the sand using the outdoor shower before making your way inside and getting comfortable.
Dust off those cooking books and relish in a home-cooking session in the kitchen, boasting an array of sleek appliances, before heading to the dining room to enjoy the fruits of your labour with a stunning outlook over the beach.
Put your feet up in the lounge, boasting two large sofas, an open fire and a Smart TV, whilst the dining room also has a little seating area where you can choose a book from the selection provided and while away the hours.
Patio doors lead out to the first tier of the garden, featuring an astro lawn with furniture, providing the ideal place to enjoy a morning coffee or evening tipple.
A few steps down leads to the expansive lawn that wraps around the property, providing plenty of space for the dogs to roam about.
When it comes to catching your rest, there are four tasteful bedrooms to choose from, including a king-size, double, twin and single, complete in refreshing colours.
Serving the bedrooms is a bathroom and shower room, so you can best decide how to prepare for the day!
Come the morning, awake to plan your Cornish itinerary, beginning with a stroll down to Polzeath beach, where you can dip your toes in the sea before retreating back and enjoy a bite to eat at the Beach Box café.
Continue your day with a stroll along the Cornish coastline, making sure to stop off at Pentire Point and The Rumps which demonstrate the imposing cliff views that stretch out to sea.
Head further north to Padstow, where you can tour the local museum, see wildlife at Padstow Sealife Safaris or visit the secluded setting of St George’s Cove.
There’s plenty to fill your to-do list with a stay at Curlew.

POLZEATH
Wadebridge 7.5 miles; Padstow 16 miles.
The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
