White Cottage is a lovely traditional detached cottage on two levels, a mile from Port Navas with stunning views over the Helford River to Frenchman’s Creek – made famous of course by Daphne du Maurier.
An infinitely peaceful scene, excellent for bird watchers.
The spacious living-dining room has a big inglenook fireplace with a wood-burning stove and superb views of the river from each window; step through the glazed door to the sun terrace, just perfect for daydreaming.
Walk through to the equally spacious farmhouse style kitchen which has a lovely slate floor and dining table and chairs and French windows to the terrace.
There is also a family bathroom and utility area at this level.
Head upstairs to three bedrooms, all looking over the river – the master king-size double with en suite bathroom, another double, and a small twin, zip-linkable to a king-size double.
Enjoying those fabulous views, there is a big sun terrace with garden furniture and BBQ with a few steps leading down to an acre of garden, which slopes gently down to the water’s edge, with your own slipway and 100 feet of river frontage.
A great place for kayakers and boaters.
If you can drag yourself away there are the famous Glendurgan and Trebah gardens to visit nearby, and Helford Passage with its sandy beach, good pub, boat hire and pedestrian ferry to Helford village.
There are many other beaches nearby and the nautical town of Falmouth to explore.
Three bedrooms, all with river views: 1 x king-size double with en suite bathroom, 1 x double, 1 x twin (2'6" beds suitable for children under 13, zip-linkable to 5' double). Sitting room with inglenook fireplace, wood burning stove, superb views of the river, glazed door to terrace and dining area. Kitchen with granite worktops and utility area. Bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, shower, basin and WC.
