  • "We had an enjoyable week at Alpha but there a few things that could be improved."

There were no facilities for hanging clothes in the master bedroom. The hood over the hob was missing one of the filters and the void above looked very dirty and not pleasant to cook under. The recycling bin outside was packed full and not all in bags as requested so not easy to use and obviously hadn’t been emptied for a while. Despite the few issues, we loved the secure garden for the dogs and good location within easy reach of Polzeath and Rock. Thank you

  • "Lovely spacious house."

Worked well with our big family. Us and our 2 grown up children and their families, oh and the dog. We all enjoyed the garden, and loved the various bird activity( blue tit's, blackbirds) and especially the Robins. The grandchildren loved the snug room which they used after a day out for playing on their games consoles. Peace for us grown-ups, haha. Beds were really comfy and all had nice bedding and bed linen on. Good location, lots of places to visit not too far away. Only negatives , busy road out front. No freezer in the house and oven takes an age to warm up and takes a lot longer to cook things.

Very late response from me sorry! So pleased you had a happy stay. There is an extra fridge feeezer in the shed where the dryer is just outside the back door. Sorry you didn’t find it. I agree cooker very annoying I bought it for its oven space but does take a long time to heat up, I especially find it an issue as use to an Aga at home which is permanent hot! Thank you for your review Kate Property Owner

  • "Lovely property, location was perfect for us as family live in nearby Delabole."

Everything was to a high standard only thing we struggled with was the oven not getting to temperature but got there in the end with the help of Google. Loved it so much we booked for next year before we left.

  • "Things that have stopped me giving 5 stars Busy road with fast moving traffic and unable to walk from door No upstairs ensuite and Kings size bed seemed to be 2 twins pushed together with individual bedding (inaccurate listing?"

) Cleaners arrived 30mins early on day of departure and were quite forceful that we had the checkout time wrong, thankfully could show them confirmation (apparently happened the week before, so they had checked with 'the office' the previous day - either given incorrect info or trying to rush people, owners confirmed 10am checkout)

Sorry not to have responded sooner. August is a busy time for the road outside sorry that you found you couldn’t walk from the house to coastal path. We know it well and feel probably more comfortable than you to walk on this busy road. With regard to the bed situation we found there was more demand to have beds that were single and pushed together to accommodate different parties of people staying. The cleaners were wrong with their timings not sure how that got mixed up. Apologise. Property Owner

  • "A really lovely house, extremely well appointed and equipped."

Super bedrooms, with lots of space to relax. Only slight negative was the outdoor furniture and in view of the lovely weather we had we could have done with a parasol for the patio and a couple of loungers would have been useful. Other than that we had a lovely time and would highly recommend a stay!!

Sorry for the late response to your comments. Will make sure there is a parasol and some outside loungers for next year. Thanks for the feed back it’s always helpful. Property Owner
