“This was lovely cottage, very peaceful and quiet, near a beach - all the things you said it would be and what we wanted.”

Very large comfy bed, plenty of space in kitchen/dining area, would recommend it to anyone looking for tranquil holiday.

The property

3 miles from the village of Gunwalloe on the Lizard peninsula is The Dairy, a single-storey semi-detached cottage lovingly converted from a former barn.

Step through the large glazed double doors into a small hallway and kick off your walking boots or sandy shoes.

From the kitchen, with dining area, beams, wood floor and electric fire are stable doors to a private little enclosed patio and seating area.

An arch leads to the cosy sitting room which has a multi-fuel wood burner for extra warmth and glazed bi-fold doors which open on to a small walled terrace.

There are three bedrooms – a large double with super king-size bed, a twin with en suite shower-room and a single with a day bed.

There is also a family bathroom.

Outside is a pretty, secluded garden with trees, lawns and shrubs and plenty of outdoor space for storing surfboards, bicycles, kayaks and beach gear.

This inviting, private cottage is in a peaceful, tranquil spot, well located for the lovely beaches and walks around the Lizard Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The village of Gunwalloe has a good food pub and is on the Coast Path.

Scenes from Poldark were filmed on the sandy beach here and there are several other beaches nearby, including Dollar Cove (reputed to contain Spanish treasure).

Flambards theme park and the seal sanctuary are both great family days out and are within a short drive.
