  • “Very nice cottage and owner .”
Very nice cottage and owner . Location wasn't easy to find and very narrow road for the last mile. Had a very nice stay and will recommend to all our friends.

The property

This studio-style property is situated in scenic leafy countryside, just a short drive from picturesque Helford Passage.

Perfect for those seeking a truly secluded escape, guests of Dovecote have unlimited access to acres of wooded countryside surrounding the property, as well as a small orchard.

The property’s own colourful cottage garden is a wonderful place to relax with an evening tipple, and is particularly pleasant during the spring and summer months.

Inside, a small galley kitchen leads through to the open-plan living and sleeping area, where the high beamed ceiling and neutral furnishings create a fresh and sunny welcome.

An adjoining en-suite shower room completes the small but perfectly-formed accommodation.

Out and about, while away the days exploring the banks of the Helford River, with its hidden coves, unspoilt scenery and quaint waterside hamlets.

Discover Frenchman’s Creek - the inspiration behind Daphne du Maurier’s novel of the same name – foodie pubs right on the water’s edge, and unpolluted, starry night skies.

Remote and romantic, Dovecote offers blissful tranquillity and the chance to embrace a slower pace of life.

About the location

HELSTON

Porthleven 3 miles; Falmouth 12 miles; Penzance 14 miles.

Helston lies at the western gateway to the Lizard Peninsula, a large area of downland fringed by a beautiful and spectacular coastline. Helston is a pleasant busy market town famous for its Flora Day Festival and the many stories and legends about the "Furry Dance" are told in the fascinating Helston Folk Museum. Nearby is the Poldark Mine, one of the best underground experiences in the south west and which tells of the widespread mining heritage of this area. Nestled in a tranquil setting is the National Seal Sanctuary on the Helford River, where there is plenty of entertainment watching seals play and feed. If it is thrill rides that excites you, then Flambards theme park will keep you amused all day and also has excellent living history experiences. Further afield is the harbour town of Falmouth to the east and Land's End to the west. Helston is a wonderful holiday destination offering plenty of attractions for the whole family.
