  • "On arrival at the property we received an extremely warm welcome from our hosts."

We were shown the property and the facilities available. It could not have been better. It had everything we could wish for in a holiday letting and the hosts were insistent that we let them know if there was anything we needed, there wasn't. The property was warm, snug and very comfortable and situated with such easy access to north, south, east and west Cornwall. We certainly hope to return but in the meantime have wonderful memories to look back on.

  • "This was a lovely property located in an ideal central location to explore Cornwall."

The owners Gill and Carl were so friendly and welcoming and on hand for any queries we had. The bed is amazingly comfortable. There is plenty of parking space outside of the property which is a bonus in Cornwall. The approach is via a narrow lane as stated by the owners, but this is no different to any of the other narrow roads that you find in this part of the country. I would recommend this property to anyone as a very clean, comfortable and friendly place to stay to explore Cornwall. Thank you to Gill and Carl for our lovely stay.

  • "I had a lovely stay here, the accommodation was exactly as described."

I had a very warm welcome after arriving later than expected. Everything was shown to me, help was offered to settle in and then I was left to relax and told to ask, if I needed anything. Friendly and chatty and more than accommodating to help find things to do in the local area. As for the narrow lanes, well half of Cornwall is narrow and the accommodation is down a very quiet road with little to no traffic passing by. I was in and out everyday with no problems as I visited the coastal path several days, went on boat trip along Helford river, managed to get lost on a lumpy bike ride and watched a band play on a local beach one evening. All within a driving distance of approx 20 minutes- such a good location for access to different areas. Clean, comfy and hyggelitt! Would happily return.

  • "If you are looking for peace and quiet far from traffic noise then this cottage is perfect."

The property is secluded yet only half and hour from, Falmouth, The Lizard, Penzance, 40 minutes from St Ives and just under an hour from Land's End. The accommodation is well thought out and very comfortable and the proprietors are friendly and most welcoming. Loved our stay there. One word of warning, Cornwall has some very small roads and the drive to Dovecote in particular is narrow.

) The bed was extremely comfortable. The owners are very friendly, approachable and helpful. The cottage is in stunning countryside, approached by narrow lanes - part of the appeal of Cornwall, but may not be for those who are not confident drivers or who hate reversing! Centrally located to visit lots of the surrounding villages, beaches and gardens.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback which the owner has taken on board. Some changes are planned for the end of the season in readiness for 2022 Property Owner

The owner and her son made us feel very welcome indeed. Very quiet and serene in the garden. Several fantastic places to visit nearby such as Helford, Kynance Cove and Gweek. Though small, the cottage was everything we hoped, clean, warm and cosy. Kitchen well equipped for self catering and fridge freezer was large. • "The cottage was down some very narrow lanes."

There was no private area outside to sit. The shower room was very cramped and overall the cottage is not one that I would revisit or recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we're sorry to hear this property did not suit you. We agree that the shower room at Dovecote is small and have amended the text accordingly. We also agree that the property is located down some narrow lanes, these types of lanes are a characteristic of Cornwall. We hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "When planning this Cornwall break earlier in 2018, we were looking for somewhere suitable for a couple, not over-expensive, and not located in a busy locality."

Dovecote ticked all the boxes. It had all the facilities described on the website. On arrival, our host - Gill - had provided scones and clotted cream! Delicious! The German Shepherd, Rhinny, is a big softy, and just wanted to play all the time. Dovecote lies at the end of a very narrow lane - but as with all Cornwall lanes, if you take care and don't approach bends too fast, there's no problem with meeting vehicles in the opposite direction - passing places. Dovecote is the Annex to the main cottages (another at the far end is also a holiday let) but we hardly saw the other occupants. Supermarket shopping in Helston - Sainsburys, Tesco, and Lidl are easily accessible. Dovecote is an excellent base for visiting the coast across the south of Cornwall, and we even ventured three times beyond Bodmin, close to Plymouth on one occasion and to Tintagel on another (round trips of over 100 miles). But accessing the A30 through Redruth made for easy travel, although we acknowledge that during high season, travel to and round Cornwall might be more difficult. In summary, Dovecote provided an excellent - and very comfortable (nice king-size bed) - for our exploration of Cornwall and its National Trust and English Heritage treasures. RECOMMENDED!

We had a really nice week away and everything we needed was at hand. The host was also very welcoming. We are both dog lovers so we were fine, but our only suggestion would be to put a disclaimer on the site that you have very friendly dog that is free-roaming as some people may not be familiar with dogs or aware that he is there on their arrival. Thank you again for your stay!

We have a very friendly dog called Rinny, who has the freedom of the garden when we are with him, we live on site and will always check with our visitors on arrival that they are ok with our dog. Rinny is not left to roam the garden unattended and if we are out Rinny is put away. Property Owner
