  • "We had a wonderful stay at Rockpool."

It is a really lovely, clean house with great facilities. It's also a perfect location for the beach (3 minute walk!), and for exploring the local area. As well as being really well presented with really modern appliances, it has absolutely everything you could need for a young family - probably the best kitted out home we have ever stayed in. Additionally the owner, Elizabeth, was so helpful and gave us loads of local recommendations for things to do / where to eat. Thanks for such a great week!

Regrettfully I won't be going back.

What is not to love, its cosy and comfortable, spotlessly clean and well stocked for self catering. Proximity to the beach is a big plus, and this leads onto lovely coastal paths which we used many times. I cannot recommend this property enough, it really is a little gem.

  • "We absolutely loved our two week stay at Rockpool."

The house was very clean and homely; lots of thought has been given to what guests might need during a holiday. The house is very close to the stunning beach and coastal walk and there are a couple of lovely beach cafes. The owner was really approachable and helpful. And, with teenagers, Wi-Fi and the smart tv were much appreciated!

The conservatory is extremely hot when the sun is shining and impossible to sit in it. Also very cramped. Space in the garden would be better utilised. Beds very comfortable. Easy access to the beach

  • "I went to the cottage to recover from breast cancer surgery and chemo."

What a beautiful place. The beach is on the doorstep, this is where I went everyday and it is a stunning beach! The cottage has everything you need inside, just like home from home. The only thing I can say that was a bit disappointing is the hot water, after paying over £1000 for a week I think the hot water should be on constantly. We had to use the shower to fill the bath enough to bath the baby on several occasions.

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and that you like the beach. Many apologies the hot water was out of sync for you on the first couple of days. I hope the changes we made on Monday sorted it out for you (and future guests). Property Owner

  • "House was really well presented, clean and tidy."

Owner left two bottles of wine, biscuits, colouring pad and pencils for the kids which was all a lovely touch. The location was great literally opposite the beach. The building works that we had been informed about were alot closer then we had thought it’s literally outside the house...but it didn’t bother us one bit, they weren’t doing much and when they were we were out. Next doors building work didn’t bother us either, hardly any noise. So all in all a great stay! .

  • "The owners of Rockpool had thought of everything we needed for our stay, making us feel at home right from the moment we arrived."

The house is in an excellent location for Harlyn Bay beach and it’s easy to get to Padstow or St Merryn by car or even on foot if you like to hike. The coastal path can be picked up easily too with some beautiful walks. The Beach Box at Harlyn is highly recommended for its breakfasts (opens at 8am), lunches and waffles!

  • "Fantastic property and excellent location."

Beds really comfy. Cleaner not as conscientious as she should be, carpets full of dog hairs from previous renters, conservatory not been cleaned for ages. It took three goes with the hoover to clean the lounge so we could put the baby down. No clothing storage in 2nd double bedroom. Kitchen - not enough electric sockets, fridge way way too small, and no dishwasher but Liz is hoping to revamp the kitchen soon so fingers crossed this will all be rectified.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear this regarding the carpets, we have now upgraded the vacuum cleaner to avoid future guests experiencing this issue. THe double bedroom has a draws and a under bed basket, unfortunately due to the size of the room there is no room for a wardrobe. We hope this did not impact you from enjoying your time at rockpool Property Owner

Everything you need for a great holiday is supplied. Also cleaned to a very high standard on arrival. The owner was very helpful before our holiday re building work in the area which to be honest was barely noticed during our stay.

  • "Very well presented - everything we needed for our stay."

Plenty of information on how to do things e.g. - washing machine etc. And instructions for waste and recycling etc. Perfect position a stones throw from the beach - a very enjoyable break. Only one negative comment - upstairs very creaky floorboards.

  • "The cottage was the most immaculate place we have ever stayed in."

The furniture was new and there was an abundance of kitchen utensils and crockery. Parking was also easy with spaces supplied by the side of the cottages. Yes there is building work going ahead in front of the cottage but noise was kept to a minimum and it didn’t effect our holiday at all. The bonus is being so close to the beach, no driving necessary which was great for our elderly dog and indeed anyone that can’t walk that far. A cafe in the beach car park supplied everything you would need. We found some lovely restaurants not far away, one being Rick Steins called The Cornishman and also The Pickwick Inn. Newquay riding stables are half an hour away with rides along the estuary, somewhere I have visited for the last 10 years. I would have no hesitation in recommending Rockpool cottage.

  • "Amazing location - extremely close to the beautiful Harlyn Bay beach."

Literally 1 min walk. Beach was great as gorgeous sand and lots of space for everyone to distance themselves. Lifeguards also on duty so felt very safe. Fab family beach with surfers, body boarders, swimmers, families & pooches too - catered for all!. Loved it. Also worth parking at Harbour Cove (short drive away & also dog friendly) and walking along the beach all the way to Padstow - about 40 mins - well worth it. Access to SW coastal path walks from this location too. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Lovely welcome pack of tea, biscuits and even some treats for our dog. Plenty of cleaning / sanitising items too. Bedding / towels professionally cleaned which was lovely. Bathroom looked new and was lovely and new carpets upstairs too. Conservatory was a nice place to chill and we all felt that we had space if we needed it. Garden adequate size to sit and enjoy a BBQ tea. Improvements: Could do with a bigger fridge / freezer. Also new tv would improve stay as sound was an issue - couldn't get any on our first night. Lots of switching HDMI etc etc - too much of a faff! Owner aware and was very friendly when contacted so will hopefully will be sorted in the future. Not great mobile signal either which didn't worry us. House generally clean but would benefit from skirting dusted / kitchen drawers & cupboards having a good clean out. Some building work going on in the area but not too much of an issue. All in all a very comfortable, well equipped home in an amazing location. Definitely worth a stay. You won't be disappointed - we had a fab holiday.

We had two under two and it was so useful. There were plenty of beach toys to borrow, a stair guard, a bath seat, an additional mattress to ensure it was a comfy cot, good high chair and plastic plates etc. The only niggle we had was that there was no recycling available onsite. You could see neighbouring properties had recycling available and it would be good if it could be looked into. We were conscientious and took all of ours to Padstow and took the plastic to the Eden Project but I fear others wouldn’t do so. It was a fantastic holiday and we would definitely visit again.

Its a great location for the beach and access to the surrounding area. If I had one suggestion to make , it would be to have a bigger fridge- to handle the beers :-)
