  • "Everything was brilliant, the bed and general comfort, however the parking is a bit of a pain as I had to park a few hundred yards down the road to unload & the heating needs a note to say it takes a while to come on and how to operate."

Over all very clean and tidy and comfortable stay and would definitely stay here again.

  • "A really lovely cottage in Hayle."

Well located, quiet, comfy beds & a lovely sunny garden. Host communicated well. There’s a gym 1.5 miles away at £6 per day too!

  • "I was disappointed with this property as it did not live up to its description, rating or price  as advertised on the Sykes website."

The description states that this is a well furnished house, with manicured lawns, and a weekly laundry service. In reality we had to complain about the laundry not being done, the overgrown lawn with dandelions and weeds, a bathroom fixture not working (just to be told “it doesn’t work. Best wishes”). There were other things we also found disappointing like the bathroom floor transferred a brown mark to the shower may , the shower unit had mould, the garden had bones and crab shells left on a table by previous guests, the settee was stained, we found the lack of curtains made it difficult to sleep at night, roadside parking was extremely challenging due to the number of cars wanting to park in the severely restricted surrounding streets. This all took the shine off of a much needed restful holiday.

Location is the key and although parking can be a struggle, places to park nearby. Well worth the stay as and clean, modern and cosy

  • "We have recently come back from our two week stay at Copper Beach."

The house was clean and tidy with all the facilities required. The kitchen whilst compact had everything needed. The two bedrooms were of good size and very comfortable. The large TV was an absolute bonus especially as the Euros and Wimbledon were on! There are many good options to eat out in the area but I would advise booking well in advance as some we couldn't get in to.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Copper Beach."

The cottage is beautiful and very well furnished, with everything you would need and is very homely, quiet and comfortable. And Austin and Wendy are so kind and helpful. Hayle is a great base for exploring West Cornwall with St Ives, Lands End, Mousehole, Marazion and St Michael’s Mount (to name but a few) all in close proximity. We loved exploring the local area and especially enjoyed the incredible beach and sand dunes just a short distance away from the cottage. We have never seen such a long stretch of sand before, when the tide goes out it literally goes on for miles and has the finest white sand. It’s beautiful and suitable for all ages. We really loved our time here. Thank you Austin and Wendy and Sykes Cottages. We will definitely be back.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Copper Beach."

It’s a lovely, clean and tastefully decorated cottage with a private sunny garden to use the barbecue. The kitchen has all you will need but be careful of the step! Very quiet location too, especially considering it’s proximity to Hayle centre with all the shops and restaurants available there. There are lots of local and nearby attractions to enjoy. Locally, we would recommend taking the short walk to Hayle beach and also see the seals at Mutton Cove. Thank you for our lovely holiday, Wendy and Austin.

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 7 miles; Penzance 7.5 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafes where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries or admire the colourful sub tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre (35 mins), Falmouth Maritime Museum (40 mins), Eden Project (40 mins), St. Michael’s Mount (15 mins) and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
