  • "Good clean property."

Plenty of space. Warm and comfortable, good location for Gweek, Falmouth etc and central point for places further afield.

  • "A touch harder to find than expected, the lane is "literally" down the side of the village hall, with a slightly worn sign, with the property name on it, at the corner of the turn."

House has LOADS of storage space in the generous sized bedrooms. Shower was, however, very underpowered and felt like the water would "run out" but it was a good temperature and did the job. Make sure you take everyday basics, such as a hair dryer, kitchen sponges, loo rolls etc. A dvd player too, if you think you will need one. There is an under-counter freezer, which was very useful, as well as a standard under-counter fridge. Peaceful in the extreme, with a lovely garden, a real suntrap. One issue cropped up on arrival, but was speedily resolved via the Caretaker and then the Owner sending their "repair guy" We utterly loved our stay and will go again - the New Inn at Mabe Burnthouse was also wonderful, but the village shop was not terribly nice. However Falmouth is so close with plenty of shopping options, we had no need of the village shop, though the Post Office at the back of it was handy

  • "5 black bags of rubbish in front garden when we arrived!"

Recycling bags at side of house quite full. It would help to leave more information for visitors about recycling and waste collection. Hot water not working on day we left. Otherwise, excellent place to stay. Ideal for family group. Love the bright rooms and leafy garden. Kitchen well equipped. Love the individual feel to the house, not just another generic holiday cottage. We want to come back already! Our second stay at the property.

  • "Good sized house, well equipped with good garden."

House was extremely cold on arrival, resulting in dining room floor being still wet after cleaning.it took hours to get house to a comfortable temperature and for floor to dry. Leather sofa against internal wall extremely uncomfortable. Leather components kept sliding out of position. Need a joiner to sort out doors: front door sticks, doors from living room to dining room jammed and unusable, door to bedroom with king bed rubs on carpet and many of the wardrobe doors in all bedrooms will not close properly. As mentioned by previous guests, oven bottom drawer and contents require a good clean. It would be worth mentioning to guests that rubbish bins and bags need putting out on main road for collection. We put them at end of drive with a brown bin that was already there but they didn't get emptied

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are sorry that the heating wasn't on for your arrival, this was an oversight and we have spoken to our housekeepers. We haven't had any previous comments regarding the leather sofa but will take a look at the sofa. As you were the first guests of the season, we think that the doors may have swollen slightly, hence the issue with them sticking or jamming. Once the house has warmed through these issues shouldn't occur but we will double check to make sure. We will also update the information folder with regards to the putting out of the rubbish and the rubbish collection day. We are glad that you enjoyed both the house and the garden and we do hope to welcome you back in the not too distant future. Property Owner

  • "The hob and oven required cleaning especially the drawer under the oven."

The base of the shower cubicle needs cleaning. The electrical plug box above the hob should be checked by an electrician for compliance with BS 7671 2022. There are no curtains in the hall or dining area. The property is in a nice quiet area with a lovely garden and with a bit of modernisation this could be a stunning property commanding a higher rental value.

  • "Stunning place to stay."

Very peaceful and would definitely recommend if you need a relaxing getaway.

  • "Would we recommend – Yes definitely, but read the following Pros Spacious, modern kitchen, house clearly recently decorated, great large garden, very clean, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, effective heating, smart TV, plenty of cutlery etc."

Cons Lighting – lounge is unbearable in full sun much too bright. Conversely, in the evening the lights are diabolical downstairs – lounge and kitchen very difficult to enjoy reading anything. Downstairs desperately needs blinds and more and brighter lighting. Conservatory looks great in the picture but you can’t use it because it has no blinds – much too hot and/or blinding. All door locks front and back need attention they are stiff, the front door handle feels like it will soon fail. Dangerous items – no oven gloves and my wife bashed her head when placing shoes in the open area under the stairs – the protruding pillar needs protective attention. Bring a hair dryer Toilet roll holders were off the walls Baking trays and lower oven drawer need attention of cleaner. Dishwasher filter upper plate (not the filter roundel) was very dirty and took a lot of cleaning, this needs to be included in the regular cleaning regime.

  • "We were looking for a modern, clean and crisp home to stay in for our first ever visit to Cornwall and that's exactly what we found at Moorstone."

We were lucky enough to be the first to stay in this beautifully renovated home with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. This included a dishwasher, microwave, kettle, central heating controlled by HIVE, WiFi, all the necessary pots and pans, cutlery and crockery, a large dining table and a gorgeous conservatory overlooking a large well-maintained garden with mature shrubs. After sightseeing in the day we would enjoy our evening cup of tea whilst watching the children playing in the garden. A drive with ample parking was a bonus. Upon arrival we felt warmly welcomed as we could feel the owner had put in extra effort with touches here and there. The bedrooms were spotless with lots and lots of storage space and a generous number of towels were provided. As a non-pet person I was relieved not to find any signs of pet hair which sometimes are found in older cottages. I have to say, I also wanted to treat the home as I would my own home and we were respectful and not wasteful of the energy resources so we used only as much heating as needed and were careful to switch off lights when not in use and not taking excessive showers just because its included as any wastage which is bad for the environment ultimately affects us all. We took our shoes off when going upstairs or wherever there was carpet. Sykes were brilliant too, so helpful and available out of hours when we had queries. Overall we had the most comfortable and memorable time and we wouldn’t think twice about staying at Moorstone again and booking with Sykes.
