  • "The Forge is a beautiful property and we enjoyed our week there and we loved the location."

We loved the interiors and it was very comfortable and the garden equally was a delight to sit in, a couple more loungers would be good especially when 7 of you are staying. The only minor issues were the size of the bath towels, a bath sheet would be better and an extra hand towel for your hair. Also there weren’t any tea towels or a hand towel for the kitchen, didn’t like using endless kitchen roll. There wasn’t a duvet cover on our bed and filters on the hand held hoover and tumble dryer clogged, water tray on tumble dryer over flowing, all house keeping issues that for the cost shouldn’t happen.

Dear Sir, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay at The Forge — we’re really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the property, the interiors, and the garden, and that the location made for a lovely week away. We’re truly sorry to hear that a few things fell short of expectations. I just wanted to gently clarify that a duvet cover was in fact on the bed — our housekeeper took a photo at changeover after noting a comment in the visitor book. We completely understand the confusion though, as it’s a white cover with subtle blue piping which may have made it appear uncovered at a glance. We also appreciate your comments regarding the towels, the kitchen linen, and the maintenance of the appliances. These are really helpful points, and we’ll be reviewing them with our housekeeping team to ensure improvements are made — especially as we want the experience to match the standard expected at this price point. Thank you again for your constructive feedback and kind words about The Forge — we’re so glad it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay overall, and we’d love to welcome you back in the future. Warm regards, Dawn Brooks-Field Property Owner
